I’m curious if anyone has done an American eel PopLip? I want to tie some for the spring eel migration but am torn between what materials to use/if I should tie it beast style (mono extension) or gamechanger style on micro shanks. anyone have experience in this or can you point me in the right direction? I’ve watched videos on pop-lips, but am hesitant to dive in.

Taking Gunnar Brammer’s eminent advise, got a few fly tying books from my local library. Looking thru Pop Flyes, I see 2 things that I’ve not seen before: 1) Back-bending hook shanks (pp 50 - Jiggy, Super Hair Version) 2) Siliclone Flyes - never seen one, no google search responses - book is 2001, so maybe any ill effects of using silicone this way were not known. As a novice tier, thought I might just tie every fly in the book, like Julie Powell cooks thru Julia Child’s 542 recipes in Mastering the Art of French Cooking ...

Hi All, I have a mix lot of 6 packets of freshwater plastics - some packets opened and some closed, but a great selection. Have a look at the pictures to see the actual selection - too many to type up. $25 excl shipping.
