  3. Sub $200 Slammer 3 Sub $200 Daiwa saltists This was interesting. It gets even more interesting when comparing the Slammer to the Saragosa SW I'd love to hear from Penn about the AR Clutch seal....and whether or not I'm correct in that it relies solely on the Sealed ball bearing to keep water out. And if they a Ti main shaft and use a hydrophobic coating at the top of the AR clutch cap.. The Slammer is one of the best $200 modern spinning reels ever designed...However....Penn has to get out of their own way with their awful quality control. I get tons of emails, messages, vid msgs, pics....with people having trouble with their slammers....(extending beyond just a tight reel due to some sealing) But if you get a good one...It's one of the best! Also...swapping out the penn grease which voids the warranty. Goes a long way in making the reel feel smoother and lighter rotating. Penn has to move on to somehting else for their spinning reels. Grease isn't magic in a bottle.....but man....Lube swappin 5 brand new penns has resulted in an overall better performing reel.
