  1. I have for sale a custom Sage Method 7wt Fly Rod in Very Good condition. Please review the photos for any imperfections, nothing I can find though besides slight discoloring on grip, which is normal. The rod is not stock, it was custom made with a different reel seat from what came from factory and it has a blue wrapped tip. Not sure why but that's what the PO did! The rod is solid, anyone that knows this model knows that it can really throw some line. I caught and landed an over-slot striper on this exact rod, so if you're concerned about integrity of a custom built rod, don't be. This is a perfect schoolie striper rod!! Casts far, has plenty of backbone to fight fish quickly and is light enough to really enjoy the fight. Selling because I bought a new 8wt that I'll use more, I planned on keeping this for streamer fishing for trout but I don't really do that enough to warrant keeping it and would rather buy some stuff for the boat. Looking for $300 OBO, pickup in Southwestern CT. Will ship at buyers expense. This rod sells on eBay regularly for $500+, selling at a discount because it is custom made and I know people will think differently about that. Reel Seat Model notes Rod tip

  5. Hi all, First post but have been tracking various topics from the sidelines for a long time now. Wanted to get some recommendations for a budget 9wt fly reel as a back up. I am mostly targeting bass, blues, and false albacore in New England from the shore and boat. I am looking for a reliable/durable back up reel without breaking the bank. A few models I am choosing between is the Waterworks-Lamson Liquid, Waterworks-Lamson Remix, Sage Spectrum C, and Colton Fly CRG II. Is there a clear winner between these few or would you recommend an alternative? Thanks!

  7. Title says it all. Hope someone is willing to liquidate
  8. Looking to sell my Sage Salt 9wt 9'0 (4pc) rod. Model #990-4 Changed jobs and had to sell my boat, so I am consolidating my fishing gear given that I will be living in downtown Tampa. As for the rod, I purchased new a few years back from a local fly shop in Sarasota. Fished a few times with it for snook and juvi tarpon but it mostly sat in my living room. Its a great rod, particularly for stripers, more so than what we do on the flats down here. I am keeping a Sage Method 8wt (4pc), so I decided to post here and see if anyone was interested. Can potentially pair this with a reel if needed to make a combo. 4pc rod, Rod Tube, Sleeve. All like-new, no issues. Send me a pm to discuss.
  9. Trying this again with price dropped. Lightly used Sage Response 8'6" 4 weight 4 piece rod with tube. $200 picked up western Essex County or Secaucus (where I work). Add $10 if shipping to continental US. The model shows 476-4, 7'6" but per the picture with tape measure it's 8'6". Great rod. Cash, postal/bank check, or PayPal. Thanks, MaCe1
  10. Hello folks, This may be an odd question and not one that I had expected to be asking. My brother was the angler in the family, and an avid one at that. Sadly, he passed away unexpectedly this summer and I'm now face with selling many of his belongs, much of which is outdoor gear, fishing rods and tackle etc. The extent of my fishing knowledge extends to what Dennis taught me. I have 5 rods and a couple of reels I need some advice on. I have 3 new Sage rods, in 2 St. Croix rods all in tubes and the St. Croix in Travel Tubes, that I I'd like to sell and donate the funds to charity in his name but have no idea what to ask for these rods. Sage rods are: 2 each Model XP 490-4 Graphite IIIe Line 4 9' 0" ft. 1 each Model XP 990-4 Graphite IIIe Line 9 9' 0" ft. 1 St. Croix TideMaster Model TS70MF3 (All New and have been in storage for some time.) 1 St. Croix Ben Doer Surf System SS8m 2pc Graphite Rod with a PENN SS 055 reel on this. (Used by in excellent condition rod and reel w/tube). I apologize for the long message but wanted to give as much information as possible and hope that someone can do the same. Thanks in advance for any help. Maybe I'll keep one for myself and learn how to surf fish in Dennis' honor. Thanks all.
