  1. What is the correct process for using arbors to install a reel seat. I am using a Fuji ergonomic seat in size 18 and the Fuji Carbon arbors. Do I glue them into the reel seat, then ream to fit and glue to the blank, or do I ream the arbors, install them on the blank and then glue the seat in place. I used drywall mesh tape and epoxy last time and decided to get fancy with store bought arbors. Thank you for any wisdom you care to share.
  2. Hello Everyone, I'm a newbie to fishing. Recently purchased a new tsunami rod from Walmart online. Both Reel seat locks are placed in same way. Seems to be manufacture defect. Is there any easy way to fix this or I need to return this? Please suggest. Thanks in advance!
  3. Hello all. I just fished Shimano Terez (TZC70MH) for the second time today and had reel seat fit problems. I would like to know if anyone has similar problems and would like to know what reel combos you have tried without issues. Rod: Shimano Terez TZC70MH Reel 1: Avet SXJ G2 6/4 MC - I hand tightened the reel seat as much as possible. When I was reeling in, I felt the reel moving side to side a bit. Reel 2: Daiwa Saltiga 15 (SASD15H) - I hand tightened the reel seat as much as possible. When I was reeling in, I heard a clicking noise and found that it came from the upper part of the reel seat. There was a bit of play. Anyone else used these reels on the Terez with similar issues? I am thinking about using a shim to see if it'll help.
  4. I am new to rod building, and fly fishing. I've decided to tackle both at the same time. Over the past two weeks, I have been gathering the materials to build a 9 foot 9 wt fly rod (Lamiglas ISI Graphite 108-9 blank). Upon receiving the parts for my handle, I realized that I am not sure how to address the transition from the fighting butt and the reel seat. The front Winn grip fits very nicely over the reel seat. Should I cut the butt to fit over the reel seat in a similar way, or is there a piece of trim I should use between the two? It seems like it would feel un-finished to just but the reel seat threads to the foam of the fighting butt. I've attached a photo of my grip and reel seat. Also if anyone has detailed photos of a fly rod with a permanently fixed fighting butt like this, could you please post them? Thanks. -Tyler
