  2. Hello guys Wanted to get an ID on these poppers. My dad gave these to me he bought them at a flea market. The bottom one I am 99% sure is a rebel and it’s plastic. The rest are wood and they are heavier I would say 1.5 to 2.5 maybe even 3 ounces. Going to replace the hooks and split rings and fish them this year hopefully. Any info is appreciated guys and have a good day on the water.
  3. While turning plug blanks, how is the cup in the face of a popper made? I have been using an ogee router bit (full round with tip), Vermont Am. 127xxx, after I take the blank off the lathe. But I am not satisfied this is either a good or effective way. Better ideas??

  7. I just picked up 3 Tsunami Talkin XD Poppers, a 5" and 6" model in wonder-bread as well as a 7" model in yellow. Looking around online, I couldn't find too much regarding the performance of the XD model Tsunamis. Compared to the normal Tsunami Talkin poppers, I think the XD versions just get upgraded hooks and split rings (4x VMC) and are weighted a bit better, but I'm not sure if the action has changed. Have you guys had any success using these? Thanks!!!
  8. Hi everyone, just wanted to take a second to drop some pics of my first batch of plugs. I'm new to building, and have gone head over heels for it. I'm really excited and looking forward to learning more, building more, and catching more. These pics are a few of the bottle style poppers I recently turned out. They cast great, swim great, and push plenty of water, so I'm happy... Like anything else in life I've learned from my first to last, so my next ones will be better, but again I'm pleased for my first shot at it. From conception, to the dressed tail hooks, was all me. Thanks for looking! -Pat
  9. I got a large number of poppers and flippers professionally tied for me for a previous trip to Mozambique. Since I've started tying flies myself, I'll never get through all these poppers in a lifetime. They are exquisitely tied, very robust and have great pop-to-size ratio! The flippers are easier to cast and have more of a 'skittering' action rather than the straight popping action of the poppers. Offering packets of 10 of each for $35 excl. shipping. Willing to do mix bags too.
