  1. Hi everybody, I’m looking to buy a lightly used ODM surf wave 3.5 bag. I would appreciate if you have one you might be willing to part with, if you could please post a couple pics and a shipped price please. thanks for looking!
  2. I currently own the 2021 ODM genesis 9 ft. Its a great rod and I bought it to be my main stick but I'm leaning towards getting the 10ft instead. I still want a 9ft for lighter back bay. Something for throwing no more than 1.5oz. I will likely be throwing 1/2-1oz the majority of the time. I like the idea of a 1 piece but I have never owned casted a GSB. I don't want a true moderate rod like the longer GSBs but I heard the 9ft rods are a bit faster. The new st. croix seage 9ft seems interesting as well. I've always been a fan of their surf rods and customer service. At the end of the day I may just hold onto the ODM 9ft but was wondering if anyone has spent time with the sticks listed above. Thanks in advance.
  3. Want to trade my custom Lamiglas gsb. 108 1 m. 9 foot medium. For an OdM evolution 9 foot.
  4. Just ordered this rod from saltwater edge. Planning on pairing it with my vs250. Anyone have this combo ? What do you think? I chose the 3/4-4 over the genesis 1-6 as I figured it would suit me better for SS Long Island.
  5. Gently used plug bag, has never seen water. Only used a couple of times off a jetty, tubes are mint with no cracks ect. Paypal or cash if you are local to RI. 200tyd
  6. Getting rid of a big salt lot, last few seasons i have focused on freshwater. I hate to see these collect dust in the garage. Looking to get 500 for everything. Cash or paypal, i am located in RI.
  7. Selling my ODM Frontier X 3/4-4oz Rod Slightly used, bought in 2020, didnt use much as i was using my century rod mostly, $385 shipped, buyer pays 3% for paypal goods and services.
  8. 11 foot genesis ..2-6oz 10 for DNA ..3/4-4oz 10.6 century slingshot ..2-5oz ...... What do yall recommend for vsx size on these rods .. I was thinking a 200 is perfect for all 3 but I've been told I need a 250 for the 11 n 10.6 .. how true is this?? Opions please .. hope there isn't such thing as to many posts
  9. As the title states, looking for a rod between 9’6-10’6. My main rods were all blown apart by my tonneau cover breaking free and blowing them up in the rack the other night. My preference is the odm NXE-105 but I’d go as long as the NXE-116 for the right deal. Can pick up in the philly, Delaware, jersey areas. Let me know what ya got - tight lines

  15. Have a ODM Nex1 114 3/4 to 4oz rod built by Haskell’s Bait & Tackle in Quogue, 2 inches cut off the butt so its actually 10'10" looking to trade for a 10 foot rod with a comparable rating. Bought 2nd hand on here last year, used a bit, still in great shape, no issues. Just need a 2 piece 10 footer for space issues. Pics are from the original post, I'll take new ones tomorrow. I live in central/Eastern Suffolk and work in central Nassau Tuesdays to Friday to meet up. Let me know what's out there.
  16. I got to spend a short period of time casting both the ODM DNA 8ft and the 2021 Genesis 8ft rods today so I figured I would do a quick write up for anyone who's interested. Unfortunately I didn't fish either rod or throw an array of plugs so this isn't a full and complete review. I casted both rods with lead (1/2oz, 1oz, and 2oz) Initial impressions: The 2021 genesis is noticeably lighter and thinner as soon as you pick up the rod. Literally the lightest surf rod I ever recall picking up. That being said, the DNA is not far behind. Its light enough to be impressed by its weight but it doesn't quite match the genesis. I didn't notice the weight much if any while casting since both are light rods but it might make a difference over time. The components on both rods seem very solid (I believe they have the same components but I'm not certain). The only thing I didn't like about both rods is that they have this slightly chunky plastic reel seat. The reel for both rods seems very solid, but its hard plastic and can be uncomfortable if you have a tendency to grab around the base of the reel. Since It is a surf rod and most people will be using the upper grip, I don't see this being much of an issue. The grips on the genesis are thinner than the DNA. The DNA grip also provides some contours on the upper grip which I would think most casters would enjoy. Both grips are good but I would assume most people would have a preference Casting and Rod Action The DNA is listed and Mod-Fast while the Genesis is listed as Moderate. I had no experience with the prior genesis rods so I can't speak on a comparison to the older ones. Both rods had very similar actions despite being labeled as different. I don't necessarily think they are listed incorrectly, I just think they are more similar than they are different 1/2oz: This is where the I felt the DNA did a little better. It really felt like I could "fling" and 1/2 oz lead weight effortlessly. It felt automatic. This is where you could get a feel for the DNA's slightly faster action. The genesis was right there as well. If the DNA was a 10/10 then the genesis would be a 8.5 or 9/10. 1oz: I couldn't tell the difference here. I had almost no preference. Maybe a slight nod to the genesis, but the actions really evened out with 1oz on the end of the line. Take a look at the pictures I attached. The first picture is the genesis while the 2nd is the DNA. Almost identical action show in these pictures. 2oz: This is where the genesis did better. I felt like I had a little bit more control with the genesis and it provided slightly more feedback during the backcast. I did notice that the rod felt slightly more moderate at this point. The DNA did great too, I just preferred the genesis here. I wish I had gotten slowmo video for this weight since you would have likely seen a slightly more noticeable difference in actions. Final Thoughts: Both rods are seriously good. I wish this was as easy as declaring a winner and saying the genesis was just an improved DNA but thats not the case. It would make my life a lot easier since I'm only keeping one of these rods. The DNA seems to have the edge on the light stuff so this would probably be my preference for soft plastics on jig heads under 1oz and lighter bucktails. The Genesis takes the cake on throwing heavier stuff and also edges the DNA in weight. I'm hesitant to speculate on how well each would throw sp minnows or other small/ mid sized plugs but I would guess the genesis would win here. That being said, I would likely stick to the DNA for throwing small metals and epoxy jigs. I hope this helps anyone trying to make the same decision. Either way they both handle the range of 1/2-2oz incredibly well.
  17. I’m trying to make a decision between and ODM 2021 genesis and ODM dna 8ft. I handled both of these rods. The genesis seems like a slightly nicer blank and it’s light as a feather but my only concern is that it’s listed as a moderate action. How accurate are their ratings as rod actions can be very subjective? Mostly going to be using to throw bucktails, jig head. Some small plugs. In my mind I feel like I would want something a little bit faster especially at the 8ft length. I would love to hear some feedback from Someone who’s fished both. I’ve been spoiled lately shopping for fly rods. Being able to cast everything before I buy is something I miss while Shopping for surf rods.

  21. Hello Folks, Been thinking of upgrading my current canal set up to something nicer/stronger, mean lean--all that stuff. After lots of research I've narrowed down my search to: ODM Jigster 10'-6" 4-10 oz (original rod, not the extreme) and not sure about a reel but maybe a Shimano Saragossa 8000? I really wanted a single rod that can do both jigs and plugs well and most importantly--"not too heavy". I usually jig to start out until I see breaking fish or something going on that makes me switch over to plugs. The jigs I use are all the usual canal jigs like Al Gag paddle tails, Savage Sandeels,....etc., ranging 2--5oz mostly and plugs like Stick Shads, Pencil Poppers, Magic Swimmers....etc ranging 2--5oz mostly (same weight as jigs). The question: is this the "best" all around jig/plug do-all-rod (10-6 or 11??) ? I decided on the 10'-6" as a happy medium between a 10' jig rod and an 11' plug rod....also to "reduce weight" and make it easier to balance with a lighter reel. Other question--would the Saragossa 8000 balance out nicely with this rod. I would like the balance to be slighly "TIP UP" as this is less tiring on my arms. Thanks in advance for any advice, opinions...etc. Just trying to get it right the first time. -Rob PS. I may use a new Diawa BG 4500 on this rod that I already own until I can make a final decision on the reel (black/gold model).
  22. WTB: ODM JIGSTER 11' IN RI OR MA TY
  23. Hello Folks, Been thinking of upgrading my current canal set up (Diawa Coastal SP 11' 3-8oz....more like 1-4 max!) to something nicer/stronger, meaner, leaner--all that stuff. After lots of research I've narrowed down my search to: ODM Jigster 10'-6" 4-10 oz (original rod, not the extreme) and not sure about a reel but maybe a Shimano Saragossa 8000? The new Diawa BG MQ--8000 (black/silver) might also be good--. Both Diawa ($249) and Shimano ($279) about the same price. I really wanted a "single rod that can do both jigs and plugs" well and most importantly--"not too heavy". 24. PPW built this rod for me this winter.. brand new, never fished. I got this rod because I wasn’t having any luck finding a 9’ built GSB, but I finally have! So this beauty won’t be seeing the use it deserves It’s 18” to center of reel seat, and roughly 37” from center of reel seat to stripper. I had him build this with a 4500 slammer in mind. Fuji ergo reel seat, black fuji K frame alconites. No factory label, minimal build with black thread and grey trim wraps. Reel not included Looking for $600 picked up, no shipping (single piece) I work around Westchester and am willing to drive a little to meet
  25. My almost mint ODM Genesis was only used a few times over a single season and was treated with kid gloves - always rinsed, cleaned and rack storage between uses. Will post pics later I am looking for an even trade so looking for an even trade because I need a rod that is a little stiffer and stronger! I live in western CT but happy to meetup further away for a good deal. Thanks for looking!!
