  1. Looking to purchase reliable kayak in good/great condition with kayak fishing items.
  2. What’s is everyone’s go to cart with ballon tires
  3. Good day everyone, I am in the market for a new kayak for under 3k I was thinking of a Hobie Compass but some people recommended the Outback I have no ties to any brand so I'm looking for the best kayak for the money. I live near the Hudson and mohawk rivers but and buying it mostly for trips to Long Island sound and near shore Atlantic trips in RI. I hrought my 9.5' 17 year old Perception out past the West Wall and it was hairy (probably stupid too) I fly fish often so a wide deck is important. I have a Subaru forrester and no trailer but ordered a Thule Showboat 66 Load assist so weight is a consideration. I want stability, durability, and portability, but don't need too many bells and whistles, just a place to keep a cooler or stowing spot to keep some porgies cool if I keep some, and a place for an orvis water proof backpack and a nalgene bottle. I probably won't get a fish finder so don't need a fancy compartment for it. Thanks everone!
  4. $3500 - 2019 Hobie Pro Angler (stock) - 180 Mirage Drive - Vantage adjustable seat - Cup Holder - Boondox Landing Gear - 20 months left on Hobie Warranty!!! A 2017 or 2018 has NO WARRANTY remaining! (Hobie extended the warranty for 3 years beginning 2019! Prior years only had 2 year warranties. SO 2018 and before HAVE NO WARRANTY!!!) WHY PAY $3889 PLUS $284 for the landing gear...PLUS TAX! SAVE OVER $1000!!!! (New with landing gear and tax: $4539!) NOT INCLUDED: Torqueedo motor, special attachments for fish finder, etc. Just stock kayak as sold by Hobie with Boonedox landing gear, paddle and cup holder! (Need to downsize to a PA12 given my current fishing situation and storage!) Willing to drop off 1/2 way! (I live in NYC but the kayak is in Peconic. It's been used in fresh water lakes ONLY!)
  5. So I got some warranty repairs done to my drive and seat, nothing that would've been dangerous to continue fishing with, more inconvenient than anything. Anyway, the fins that were replaced under warranty on my MD180 V2 drive, turbo fins, have already started to split a little around the section that wraps around the mast. I haven't hit anything and I'm always careful to remove them prior to launching/returning. Is this a fairly common issue, that the fins split quickly under normal use? Is it worth me attempting to try to get them repaired again under warranty? Boat is a 2018 camo outback btw.
  6. Looking for Hobie Revo 11 Preferably 2018 or newer for Compass Located in Maryland but willing to travel Thanks!

  10. In a bit of a pickle determining which boat to buy was hoping to get some help from the forum. The 08 in contention looks like its in really good condition for its age. I can get it for 1000 and I know that if nothing catastrophic happens ill easily be able to get my money out of it in a few years when I go to upgrade.... Thing is I know these boats are known for cracking at the drive and leaking. On top of that, the owner used a scupper cart which creates another weak point. I could instead get a leftover 2015 Revolution 11 for about $1900 after tax. At least I would have the peace of mind owning a new boat and having a warranty, but this would really be a stretch in my budget. Id love to get your opinions on what you think I should do. the length doesn't really make a difference to me as im 165. This will be my first Hobie

  13. After Mirage 180 now we have Mirage 360. Any thoughts?...the bad part is that the new kayak is very expensive and Mirage 360 cannot be used on old Pro Anglers...but it is very cool nonetheless.
  14. I was on the water this past weekend on my Hobie Revo 13, and after pedaling 40 minutes to my fishing spot, one of my turbo fin masts broke. I always carry some spare Hobie mirage drive parts in my dry bag, such as an extra gear chain, idler pulley and cable, extra stainless nuts, corresponding wrench, rudder pin, and a leatherman wave, but don't carry an extra turbo fin mast. I keep all these items in a ziploc bag in my drybag which is stored under the center hatch. Because I couldn't fish with a broken mast, I had to paddle back to my car to pick up a spare mirage drive. From now on, I plan to carry an extra mast pin in my kayak, but was wondering where the best place would be to store this. I can't keep this in my drybag as the size of the mast isn't conducive to keeping in my dry bag at all times. I'm thinking that I could keep this in a ziploc bag, and tape this under my front hatch or something but if anyone has any better suggestions, please let me know. Would rusting of the mast become a factor with permanent storage in the hull? Also, what else do you guys carry in terms of emergency repair that I may be missing?

  17. Gents, i am looking for some help here. I have been researching for a new pedal drive and have finally narrowed things down to the Hobie revolution. I am eyeing up the 11' and 13', partly for ease of fitting it into the back of a pickup. A friend of mine has the 13 and had stated that I should stay with the 13, because it is more stable in the water than the 11. He claims it will also perform better in the wind and current. I tried his 13 and was very impressed with it. I have yet to try the 11. There is only a slight difference in width and of course the 2 feet in length. At this time, his claims just don't register with me very well. FWIW, I have one of the propel drives and after trying the hobie, I like it much better. Anyone here have any experience with both?
  18. Never used, never installed hobie rod holder. All items are there 20 shipped.

  22. I bought a Hobie PA14 for the specific purpose on fly fishing in the bay behind Island Beach State Park. If you stand and cast do you use the AMA pontoons or the Hobie Stand Up H Bar? Are you stable enough without them? Thanks Gil
  23. Bought this 2016 new last season as a left over instead of the 2017 model, due to concerns over 180 drive on the 17's. Purchased from Sturgis Boat Works. This does not have the 180 drive. Boat is great shape and has lots of extras. It does have some drag marks on the bottom at the nose, all superficial. Stored lofted in garage on PVC rack as Hobie recommends. $2,500.00 OBO. Would be open to trade for a newer outboard 50-90hp. Please note GPS/Fishfinder is not going with the kayak. The only reason I’m selling is because I bought a boat. boat is located in centerville on cape cod. 2016 Hobie Pro Angler 14 Mirage drive with turbo fins BerleyPro Lowrance total imaging scan transducer mount/ Gavmin side view scan mount for under hull Boonedox Landing Gear Nocqua 10ah pro power kit 3 gang switch panel with 2 USB ports & volt meter Lighted extendable Stern Light Cockpit LED lighting white and red Pvc rocket launchers- removeable Hobie paddle Hobie paddle holder 2nd Rear Seat, no hole Pics are horrible, I will try to get better pics up soon.
