  1. OK...for starters.....It is not made from Hemp fibers.......Countless press releases and tackle talk sites claimed it's made from Hemp fibers. It's not hemp....it is HMPE....if my memory serves me correctly...HMPE is the new High molecular weight PE fiber....basically new and improved spectra/ dyneema. THis fiber is made by Nippon in Japan. Without having pulled out the leftover nanofil to compare (not just yet) Going by memory. THis stuff is identical. It's glass smooth. has a bit of waxy wiryness to it. Kind of like your light fireline. Only it is smoother and slicker than any mono or fluro. The knots they suggested are pretty extravagant....one is a modified 5 turn alberto with three wraps around the mainline while exiting the loop. THe knot they recommend is like a trilene knot. ONly after you do 5 twists....they want you to wrap back down as you would an alberto and finish like a triline. THeir modified alberto held strong enough to break a uni knot in 8lb pline halo and 8lb seguar tatsu. That's good enough for me. Tying direct...i used my quick simple...line efficient ....tried and tru 6 turn uni.....yeah...that popped at like 4 lbs. 6 turn double uni held great as did a 8 turn trilene knot...... No scale tests were done....have some event planning to do. I'll do some more tests and post some pics...... I am very nervous that this stuff will be just like Nanofil.....Mind blowing casting.......eggshell durability........and knots that can be trusted less than a crack addict in a jewelry store. Anyone else using this stuff yet? I may order some of their heavier tests to see how it works in the surf......FYI....i said that about nanofil.......never bothered after losing faith with their 8 and 10lb lines. In regards to how thin this stuff is......I filled up half a Stella 3000 FI XG with braid and topped it off with GLISS......300 meters later i still had room........yowza......I pulled it off...filled the backing to about .25 inches to the lip and spooled away....that worked....left me with a guess of 100 meters left......very thin stuff.....compared to 6lb suffix 832 that it 's replacing.....it's about 1/3 it's diameter...maybe thinner The images show how the package rated 10lb nanofil is thicker than the package rated 13.2lb Gliss. Also how clean it spools up on a Stella 3000 FI xg
  2. http://www.stripersonline.com/surftalk/topic/618741-glisswowfingers-crossed-its-not-another-nanofil/ Figured I'd post it here as it's a being used in the non salty stuff. Day one down...a few hundred LOOOOOOOONG casts....I was blown away by nanofil.......this GLISS stuff....is even better if pure casting distance is needed.... ..Still very, very wary.......But It is still yellow as when spooled, with zero color fade....and not a single nanofil like problem to speak of.....fingers still crossed......One Phantom break off....or any fraying where it shouldn't and it's back to 832...
  3. Ordered the 6KG in a 300 Meter spool for freshwater use. Ended up costing 45$ shipped from the UK. Anyone have any first hand experience with it.
