  2. Hello Experts, There is a thing I can't figure out. You can help me. Early this month I went fishing in the newfound lake, NH from my kayak. It was a super calm day, almost no wind. And it was a tournament day, and a lot people caught big bass. From my fishfinder, Lowrance hook2 I can see a lot of marks quite often. But I am not sure are these really fish? Because I tried jig, small bucktail, dipsy diver with crankbait, paddle tail jig, spoon, and live worm with a slip bobber no bite at all. I attached some photos of my fish finder, and hope you can give me an advice. I was thinking these marks are bait schools, but the water was deep and some single mark is not small.

  4. There’s always a catch with something free. It’s missing the mount that gets connected to the boat or kayak and the plastic transducer mount. Comes with all wiring and the transducer. Everything worked when I disconnected it. Must be picked up, I’m just outside of Philadelphia. I have no use for it anymore and I’d like to see this ending up with someone who will actually use it.
  5. Might be a long shot but looking to see what anyone has for used ice fishing flashers. Can be old, doesn't need to be high tech as long as it works. Don't have a set price just really don't have money for $300+ new flashers and I just started ice fishing this year so I'd rather start cheap and work up next year. I'm in North jersey but would be willing to get it shipped.
  6. Hello Everyone, Had a GREAT day fishing yesterday and got one nice 25 incher just outside the mouth of the Rondout. However, got home and found we had left our fish finder at the Sleightsburgh Boat Launch at Sleightsburgh Park. It is in a small black canvas bag and has a homemade battery attachment, along with a strap for attaching the sonar to the rubber dingy. Please call 518 410 1268 and ask for Bart if you have found it. Would be very much appreciated. thank you
  7. My big X-Mas gift this year was a PiranhaMax 197c. So I'm wondering how to mount it on my yak, I'm only worried that a scupper hole is going to scratch the transducer when landing. How do you mount them?
  8. Need to purchase a charger for my fishfinder battery. What do you guys use/reccomend?
  9. Does anyone have any experience of the Garmin Striker 4 portable kit? I want to be able to remove the fish finder from the boat at the end of each trip, and this seemed to be a good solution - they don't have any information on what the battery is like though. Can anyone recommend it, or warn me off? Thanks in advance.
  10. Never used. Taken out of box to test but never mounted. INCLUDES 83/200 transducer. Structure Scan/ Down scan black box built in. You cannot find this cheaper. Only selling because I purchased the the 3D imaging unit. Make an offer. I will have with me at RISAA and can hand deliver.
  11. When I fly fish I do it on a belly boat. That being said when I'm out there I see a lot of guys using fish finders with their belly boats. Just curious if any one has any recommendations for handheld fish finders like the hummingbird fishin buddy (for whatever reason I'm having trouble finding this for sale now at a reasonable price) that I can mount to my belly boat. Thanks in advanced!
  12. Have 200.00 for a fish finder for the kayak, don't need gps feature. Easy setup and usage are priorities. Opinions?
  13. Hi, I apologize if this question highlights my ignorance: I have a Lowrance elite 3x. When I set the depth detection to automatic, it seems to almost always want to show a "double bottom" or "double echo". In other words, if I'm in 9 ft. of water, the fish finder will set itself to 20 ft. and display one bottom at 9 ft. and a second identical bottom at about 18 ft. Is there a reason for this? Or am I not understanding the display correctly? Thanks, Tom
