  1. So I have my first batch of plugs painted, built and ready to epoxy and I'm not happy with my epoxy. I am using a heavy duty 2-part epoxy that Loctite puts out and it seems way too thick. I am struggling to spread it over the whole surface. I've read the posts and mixed it properly. I know people like Envirotex but Loctite is what I found at Home Depot so I'm using it. Is there any truth to warming it up the bottles in hot water first? Will that make it easier to apply? I've read that some of you guys get through 10 or more plugs in one application. There's no way I could that with this stuff. Is 5 min setting time too quick??
  2. Hello everyone, I'm a newbie to this forum and have read up on a few other topics similar to this one but haven't found anything dealing with sealing the bark onto the wood slab. I made this large sign for my parents cabin, it's about 44" long and nearly 3" thick. It's dry and I have wood burned the letters into the woods and used some acrylic paint on it as well. I want to seal the entire piece, front and back, and try to keep the bark on it. It will be hanging outdoors and I'm hoping it will last for many years. Is epoxy my best bet? What seems to be the best for a project like this? Thank you so much for any help you are able to offer.
