  1. Conoflex Nevada 13 - conventional reel seat, 12 ft, rated 1 to 3 oz. I purchased this rod directly from Conoflex in England. Ordered it with convention reel seat. Has spigot ferrule. I matched it with a Abu 6500 C3 CT mag and marveled at the distance it threw 2oz. Handles 1 to 4. Rod has perhaps 100 casts on it all field casts. It is like new. Suggest you search SOL forums for posts about the Conoflex Nevada 13 to see what other SOL members have said about the rod. As Conoflex has gone out of business due to owners retirement, this is a rare opportunity to obtain a special rod. Comes with rod sock, no hard case. $250 cash picked up.
  2. Need a chunking stick. Would also be interested in a custom built on the 1442mh or 1502mh blank. Located in Hull MA thx
  3. St. Croix Legend Elite Musky Rod. Model LEM86MHF. 8' 6" Medium Heavy Power. Fast Action. 30 - 65LB, 3/4 - 3 oz. Mint condition, only fished once or twice in freshwater and has been stored since with the cover on. I have the same rod with same specs in 9 ' length. Will sell that one instead if it interests you more but for now, will only sell one now and keep the other. Local meet in North NJ. $520
  4. Lamiglas GSB 1321 M custom conventional in excellent condition. Lami is 11’ and reel seat is 27” to center. Great setup for both heavier plugs and spring bloodworm/clam fishing. Located in Ocean County NJ. Will not ship but willing to meet within a reasonable distance. Price is $175.
  5. I have a Seigler SGN Lefty in new condition with box, receipt, rod clamp. No scratches and barely used. I purchased it several months ago for togging and loaded it with 30# super slick. I would be open to trades for a lefty Avet SXJ g2 plus a little cash coming my way, or a nautilus NVG 6/7 with cash coming your way. Otherwise thinking $270 for the reel without trade. It saves the purchaser $100 if you were to buy a new sgn and load it with line. Preference of person to person transaction, if not buyer responsible for shipping/fees. Thanks!
  6. “CHUNKIN TIME IS FAST APPROACHING” up for grabs is a 10’ 1-pc All Star Breakaway conventional in very nice condition! Model- LDFC 100H 10’ 1 pc Line- 20-40 pd Weight- 3-6 oz and can easily handle more! Any All Star fans know this rod! It has the usual wear on the butt and very slight gapping on the butt cap like most of the old All-Star‘s have and the cork is firm and not going anywhere! The blank, logo and guides themselves are in really great condition, see pics! $150 firm cash or PP upon meet up in the vicinity of Mays Landing, New Jersey 08330 No shipping again it’s one piece lol! As always thanks to Tim and the SOL community EA
  7. I'm probably going to regret selling this reel, but I am selling a couple of spare reels to make up for recent splurging on jigging tackle. Believe it or not, I have sold and purchased the same reel I sold on the BTS forum in the past (Shimano Talica), LOL. Anyway, up for sale is Shimano Trinidad 16A reel. I'm the first owner and I took it on 2 or 3 trips. I upgraded the handle to a power handle ($35 handle from Reel Power Handles) and I'm including the stock handle as well. I have the box and papers. It's spooled with 85 lb Sufix 832 braid. I would say cosmetically, it's 9/10 and mechanically it's 10/10. I personally didn't see anything wrong cosmetically, but since it went on a few trips, I'm sure there could be hard-to-see blemishes. Please take a close look at the pictures if that matters to you. Power handle had benign scratches on it when I bought it. I am selling the reel for $435 (Paypal). Thanks!
  8. I’m sure this stick needs no introduction! All right SOLer’s up for your consideration and for a limited time only till I raise the funds needed! Here you have the classic All-Star breakaway one piece conventional LDFC 100 H. Lenght-10’ Line wt. 30-40lb Lure wt. 3-6 oz Action. moderate fast heavy Anyone who knows anything about AS rods knows this blank and that it will easily throw 8nBait on a whim! Rod is basically in mint condition except for the cork on the handle which is just barely starting to show the usual hairline gaps all these ole’ rods wind up having at there age! Rod is 100% fishable as is and your average person probably wouldn’t even notice this! NO SHIPPING 1piece! Local meet/pick up Mays Landing New Jersey 08330. $200 cash/pp The only things I would entertain as a trade would be another factory All-Star break away 11’9” ! Swedish Abu Garcia Mag elite in blue or Swedish Abu Blue Yonder! As always thanks to Tim and the SOL Community! EA
  9. I’ve been bit by the conventional bug. I am longing for simpler times. Whaddayah got stashed away? I’m looking for something one piece, ready to fish, or may consider a blank or a rebuildable. This will be for shore bait fishing only. I’ll be tossing clam, cut mackerel and bunker, etc. I have a pair of 2 piece rods, one 10’ and a 12’, so I’m really looking for that 11ish’ 1 piece that you can live without. Pickup in or near 19053, willing to meet or travel. SEPA, central NJ a plus. Thanks.
  10. I'm planning to buy 17lb. Tritanium Plus for chunking from the shore. I'll put the line on conventional reels (Penn 525s, Squall, etc.). I plan to use a shock leader, so I'm not too worried about fish being able to see the line. Amazon has Tritanium in (1) clear, (2) chartreuse, and (3) dark green. Do the different colors behave any differently? I'm thinking abrasion resistance, suppleness, line memory, etc. I'm trying to figure out if I pick only on visual preference, or if there are other variables in play.
  11. $50 PICKED UP. Providence RI. 10' 4-8 oz conventional Ocean Master. Lightly used. Cosmetically 9/10. Some hook rash on first guide. Perfect working order. 60/40 split (2pc) Reel not included! Happy Holidays!
  12. I'm booked to go on Yakee Capts Pulley Ridge LITE trip next year and I'll be going with my buddy, who doesn't have any boat tackle. Unfortunately, they don't rent gear for this particular trip. My buddy is a lefty, so I'm looking to get a used reel that he can use and I have two kids who are lefties as well, so I figure they can use it when they are old enough. Recommended reel for the trip: Shimano Trinidad 20 or 30 Shimano Torium 20 or 30 Shimano Talica II 16 Daiwa Saltist 40 50 lb braid Looking for open face (No levelwind). Picture with description of the condition would be great. I will consider other similar reels as well, as long as it's under my budget. Thanks in advance!

  16. WTS LEXA 400 HD 8:1 LEFT HAND RETRIEVE $210 SHIPPED. Hasn't seen much use at all. Comes spooled with 40 lb. power pro. Great real, I just don't have much use for it. WTS OCEANMASTER 10' 4-8 conventional (Rod). $110 Picked up. Located in Providence FUJI components, shrink wrap grip. 60/40 split. Same deal, hasn't seen much use. Excellent Condition. There is a bit of paint missing from stripper guide where I hung my jig.) Take them both for $280 picked up.
  17. Hi All, I have looked at expanding my tackle universe to include a conventional casting outfit, and am looking at a reel like the Calcutta 200D (actually the 201D, because I run that way.) I hope to use it for not too heavy plugging, bucktailing, jigging Avas and maybe fluking. Does anyone have a rod they'd pair with a reel like this? Given a choice I'd opt for something not too pricey. The reel alone will be the most expensive single piece of gear I've ever bought that I couldn't sit in. Thanks! (This is my first post here. I'm a Striper Surf refugee.)
  18. Shimano Torium 16 HG star drag conventional reel Took out to the boat ONCE but never fished on it. Consider the reel is new. There is a tiny smudge on the reel from storing on the rod rack. Barely noticeable. Comes with a mounting bracket. Spooled with 40lb braided line. No Original box. I am willing to trade for Torium 14HG. $180 Shipped along the East Coast, add $10 elsewhere.
  19. Recently got back into fishing and a good friend gave me an old Shimano Triton TLD 10 NIB. I’ve just started my journey as a NY surfcaster and I’ve always been a spinning reel guy but I am eager to give conventional a try. Not sure what year this reel is from but probably late 80s-or early 90s. Manufacturer’s manual describes it as lever drag reel for live bait, casting and light trolling. I’d love to try and give all of them a shot. Ideally I’d like to use this reel for a party boat/charter setup but not sure if that’s a good idea. I am open to all suggestions. I’ll be targeting fish in the Northeast. Tell me all about this reel because there’s very little information about this reel online. And if it’s not too much trouble, I’d love suggestions for rods for the scenarios like live bait, light trolling or casting from shore or boat. Since this is my first conventional setup I’d prefer to keep rods under $100. Thanks SOL
  20. Looking to sell a NEARLY brand new Avet SX G2 5.3 MC LEFT HAND. Purchased over the summer and fished literally once about 3 casts. Decided I am gonna stick to low profiles for now. Spooled with 40 lb braid w/ Mono topshot; split is roughly 85/15 - 90/10. Comes with box, papers, extra hardware included with new Avet reels. Asking $265 shipped to lower 48. IMG_0718.tiff
  21. Been working on my technique a lot lately but still can't always get it where I need it. Soo i've decided ill either get a longcast (probably ssvi 65/7500 or maybe a ULTEGRA XTC), or an 11ft casting rod for one of my conventional reels. I was wondering if anyone had any experience with both and how distance compares. How would the level wind affect distance. Should i use the one without the LW. Would prob end up using mono on the conventional reel at least to start so how will that change things. I think i'm inclined to get a longcast reel because i think id be more willing to wade in which would give me a good extra bit of distance and maybe a cheep casting rod cause i think i want to learn. But any thoughts welcome.
  22. Hi. I am looking to purchase a 9’ or 10’ rod, as well as an acceptable surfcasting conventional reel, for under $200. I mostly fish small to medium-sized stripers and bluefish. I obviously don’t need the best of the best, but the reel should last and be a decent caster. Any suggestions?
  23. Have a few old Murats and looking for an idea of the value range. 12'2pc conventional and a few spinners both honey and black all in pretty good shape with a few busted guides on some. Thank You, Bob
  24. 70/ 30 split model # MSC110MHMF2. 15-30 LB. 3-8 oz. I used it a couple times but preferred spinning reel over conventional. This rod is nearly weightless( real talk) no BS. Im asking $150 picked up on long island. I can send more pics if needed. Thanks for your consideration guys.
