  1. Hello Gentlemen! (And ladies) I'm looking for some info on the old Penn Slammer 760L live liner. Back then I was still using my trusted 710's, 712's, 704's, and 706's. It would be another 15 years after the introduction of the 760L before I begrudgingly purchased my first live liners/baitrunners. I'm intimately familiar with the Fierce II 2500, 4500 and 6500, Somewhat familiar with the baitrunner D and Spinfisher V and VI but never had my hands on a 760L. I know the size/weight/feel of the 460L and 540 but here's my question. How big is the 760L? Is it roughly in the size/class with the Fierce II 6500, Spinfisher LL 6500 and 704 type real size or is it much, much larger as in comparable with an 8500 Spinfisher V/VI LL? Thanks in advance folks! -Ry
  2. Bought this used years ago here. Never used it. Turns fluidly. Drag still strong. Body, rotor, and spool are in excellent condition. Only blemishes is paint loss on the handle arm. Very rare to find a 4500B in this condition. 300 yards of 20lbs Berkley Fireline. $100 pickup Plymouth, MA. $115 shipped PayPal.
  3. Curious what people here would say is the best "baitrunner" out there in these categories: Value? Quality? Ease of use? Lowest price? --any other noteworthy comments on any spinning reel with a baitrunner/live liner/bait-feeder feature Thanks in advance!
  4. For sale are two Shimano BTR6000D Baitrunner spinning reels. Both are in excellent condition and spooled with 500 feet (166yards) of Suffix Superior 15lb clear monofilament. These reels weigh 20.1 ounces and they are a great match for many spinning rods. Each reel is packaged in its original box. $240 for both reels or $135 each (paypal please). All prices include shipping. Reels will be sold to 1st commitment on both reels OR to two commitments for one reel each, whichever happens first.
  5. Hello All, I am trying to decide which Shimano Baitrunner would be best for chunking bait for stripers on Long Island. I already have the 6500A and 6500 Triton Sea-Spin. Rod is 10ft Penn Prevail 1-5oz. If I choose a different model I would sell the 6500A and Triton to offset the cost. I have a Penn Battle II 5500 I use for plugging so this question is specific to a bait setup. 6500Triton Sea-Spin (already owned, made in Japan, graphite/plastic spool) 6500A (already owned, made in Malaysia, aluminum spool) 6000OC (rumors the newer stuff isn't as durable) 6500B (less durable than Triton/A?) Don't use a Baitrunner for bait-fishing surf on Long Island (why not?) Also, does made in Japan matter enough to put the Triton ahead of other models? Thanks all!
  6. Chunking combo, suitable for beach sharking. Tica UEHA836502S, 12 ft, 4-10oz, 2-piece spinning rod. Good shape, a little scuffed up. Shimano Baitrunner 6500B, Good shape, a few nicks. Spooled with new 65lb Power pro. Box & paperwork. $150 picked up/meet up. I'm near Morristown, NJ but travel to CT/MA often for work. Probably be around Raritan Bay in the next few weeks as well.
  7. Selling a Shimano Thunnus 12000F, been on the boat about 6 times and used only twice. Mech 10/10 Cosmedical 8/10. A little rash from rod reel clamp. Loaded with good braid, I can't remember what manufacture or test, looks like it's #40. I sent it in to Shimano 5 years ago for a clean, lube and tune, reel has not been used since. Reel is ready to fish. $200. Picked up. Located on Cape Cod can meet from canal to Chatham. I will ship, buyer pays for shipping.

  9. A Shimano Baitunner B would be nice but will consider any model (including penn, okuma etc) since I know those Bs are rare. Looking for a smaller size in good used condition. 12. Hi, Have a very lightly used Shimano Baitrunner 6000D, this was just a back up to my Thunnus. Have original box with paper work, spooled with Suffix 832 in "ghost white" about 1 month ago. Mechanically and physically excellent. 129.00 includes fee's and Priority Mail shipping. Pat
  13. Up for sale is a Shimano Baitrunner 3500B for $80 shipped. The reel is fully functional and mechanic is in good shape, i just replaced ball bearings. sorry no trading this time.
  14. Two discontinued classics; one serious combo. Both rod and reel are lightly used and in great shape: 10/10 functionally and 8.5/10 cosmetically. They always received a freshwater rinse after each outing. This is a big-boy, hard-to-find chunking setup. I just don’t have a great deal of use for it anymore. St. Croix Premier Surf Rod: 10’6” Medium-Heavy Power; Moderate-Fast Action; 10-25lb; 2-6oz; two-piece (60/40 split). Shimano Baitrunner 6500b spooled with 65# Suffix braid. Reel has its original box and papers. I would really like to keep this as a combo for now. Pick up in Connecticut only; flexible as to meeting site. Asking $250 for the whole package.
  15. Im sure this has been discussed many times before but Ive been researching constantly haven't received a solid answer yet. I am trying to decide between a Penn SSV 6500LL or the Shimano Baitrunner D 8000. I primarily surfcast off of Long Island. I have been using Penn Battle 2 5000 for the last year and a half and I love it but I want a bigger reel with a bait runner/live liner feature to use with bait and sometimes lures and I have been torn between the two reels for awhile now. Any help/advice would be greatly appreciated as I am still relatively new to fishing and don't know enough to have personal preferences. Thank you
  16. I need a Shimano Baitrunner 6000d or 8000d. I would like a great amount of saving compared to retail. The thing can be scratched up. As long as it performs and will last a while im interested. I need it shipped to queens NY. I would look at similar style reels also.
  17. No longer have a need for this reel. All the red parts were stripped and coated with red Cerakote by SMI Coatings in Haverhill, MA. Gloss was achieved by adding two coats of KBS Diamond Clear. The chrome-looking body is polished aluminum also with 2 coats of Diamond Clear to keep the exposed aluminum from oxidizing. Finish is rock hard and currently flawkless of any scratches or boat rash after a year of use. Reel just got a full cleaning and servicing. Ready to go. Mechanically 9/10, cosmetically 10/10. Asking $90 shipped or $80 picked up near Boston.
