All right Abu lovers! I just curious if anybody has played around with replacing the Mag array in 7000i series Abus with a mono mag! I know some of you were probably gonna say why? The reason is because the mag array is a horrible design! I just don’t understand why they would use such flawed design on such a nice, heavy duty reel that’s ready to rock some big fish and for long distance too! Now, if that mag array worked somewhat effectively I could deal with it but it does not work good at all! I thought maybe it was because I bought a used 7000i mag, but nope I’ve recently found a 7000i Blue Yonder brand new in the box. Although the NEW one works slightly better than the used one, neither of these reels really have any sort of decent mag control to them! And on a sidenote, my Swedish 7000’s with the L/W’s removed will easily cast as far as these things and way nicer too! So, hopefully the regulars will be chiming in! Many thanks in advance EA

Hi, I have 2 6500 c3 Round Reels. Both reels seem the same on the out side BUT not the insides. My Problem was and still is on one of them the Line out Clicker. I bought 2 repair kits for them and replaced the first one clicker is like new again. But on the second one it is not the same part. It just has a brass peace that is used to make the clicking sound. I cant seem to find it any place online. I have tried contacting Abu them selves but no way to do so. I will take pictures of it and post it but if somebody has seen this can you help please. Thanks

Selling a bunch of reels, just trying to clear the heard.. Making this listing for spinning reels and have some baitcasters/conventionals i will be posting as well. Some in very good shape, others more beater reels and prices reflect that. Will accept PayPal or will take venmo. 1: Shimano Sahara 4000fe spinning reel. Purchased this reel with no handle and the main gear was ruined, and replaced both. Excellent condition, fully functioning. $60 shipped 2: Abu Garcia Orra s30. This reel has a replaced bail arm but otherwise nothing has been changed. Great condition, spooled with 10 lb yellow powerpro. $50 shipped. 3: Quantum Escalade size 25. This reel has been used for about a year and a half. Still fully function. Has some scuffing and paint wear on the outside from use but otherwise works fine. $30 shipped. 4: Daiwa lexa 1500sh. This reel had damage where the oscillating gear connects to the main body. I was able to put it back together, but it has a slightly sticky feel when spinning slow and makes some noise. Selling as is, $20 shipped. 5: daiwa legalis 4000h. This one has a lot of corrosion to the main gears and is pretty loud but still working. Probably a good beater reel but not much more. $20 shipped. 6: the last reel is an eagle claw gold eagle spinning reel. Low end reel, fully functioning. This would be a good reel for a young kid that you don't care if it breaks. Just pay for shipping and its yours, $10.

After sorting my garage, I'm cleaning out my parts I've collected over the years. I still have a few reels I'm thinking of letting go. (Later) I have 10 original Abu 6500 CT sidebar frames. Made in Sweden. All in very very good to excellent condition. They might have tiny usage or storage marks. But nothing crazy, I would tell you if so. Best and easiest option if you want to convert your levelwind 6x00 to a CT version. Just simply transfer sideplates, shaft, and spool. Boom, 'finito. Fits all 6000,6500,6600 models. $50/each shipped to your door. Paypal. I just took two pictures, they all look the same in condition. I might have extra spools and shafts from back when I used to do distance casting. So you can upgrade from a 4000, or 5000 to a 6500 CT.

Want to let go of my Abu 7000/7500 built from my backup parts. Made from sideplate, handle, drag star from an Abu 7000 HSN ( high speed narrow ). Made in Taiwan, NOT china. Bonus points. Frame is from an Abu 7500C3, cut off top bar and added a round bar CT conversion. Spool from same Abu 7500C3. Great liteweight reel, better than the chinese ones, aluminum sideplates and handle from taiwan, while everything else is made in Sweden. Great combo, weighs alot less then the flat bar CT frame, or chrome sideplates. Minor spots of pitting on thumb side of spool. But that doesnt matter of effect anything. I got a few high end conventional rods that I have never seen the water. Tbh I have never even tried using any before. Because I have heard it's alot harder to use. But last night I met an old timer at FINS who suggested I give it a try. To say the least the guy seemed to be able to cast as far as I could , but with much better accuracy. Again this will be my first attempt at using a non spinning reel. So I'm just looking for something to get started with. That is also easy to use. Thanks gents -

I can take and provide video or item in action on request, inspection, sounds etc etc. Dont see many of these reels anymore nowadays. #1 Abu 5500CS Pro Rocket. Had this for numerous years now. It's been on the surf a few times. Has some light light usage marks. But fantastic reel. My father just doesnt use it anymore as hes getting older. I upgrade Carbontex drags. Dual bearing levelwind. Titanium line guide. Ceramic pawl. Hybride ceramic bearings. Stainless steel main gear. Notched freespool button. To prevent engages on cast. Changed to a gunmetal frame and handle to match rod it was on. Sold original silver frame. I'll discount price a bit to reflect on this. Lost box ages ago during move.
