  1. Hello All, I am trying to decide which Shimano Baitrunner would be best for chunking bait for stripers on Long Island. I already have the 6500A and 6500 Triton Sea-Spin. Rod is 10ft Penn Prevail 1-5oz. If I choose a different model I would sell the 6500A and Triton to offset the cost. I have a Penn Battle II 5500 I use for plugging so this question is specific to a bait setup. 6500Triton Sea-Spin (already owned, made in Japan, graphite/plastic spool) 6500A (already owned, made in Malaysia, aluminum spool) 6000OC (rumors the newer stuff isn't as durable) 6500B (less durable than Triton/A?) Don't use a Baitrunner for bait-fishing surf on Long Island (why not?) Also, does made in Japan matter enough to put the Triton ahead of other models? Thanks all!
  2. Chunking combo, suitable for beach sharking. Tica UEHA836502S, 12 ft, 4-10oz, 2-piece spinning rod. Good shape, a little scuffed up. Shimano Baitrunner 6500B, Good shape, a few nicks. Spooled with new 65lb Power pro. Box & paperwork. $150 picked up/meet up. I'm near Morristown, NJ but travel to CT/MA often for work. Probably be around Raritan Bay in the next few weeks as well.
  3. Two discontinued classics; one serious combo. Both rod and reel are lightly used and in great shape: 10/10 functionally and 8.5/10 cosmetically. They always received a freshwater rinse after each outing. This is a big-boy, hard-to-find chunking setup. I just don’t have a great deal of use for it anymore. St. Croix Premier Surf Rod: 10’6” Medium-Heavy Power; Moderate-Fast Action; 10-25lb; 2-6oz; two-piece (60/40 split). Shimano Baitrunner 6500b spooled with 65# Suffix braid. Reel has its original box and papers. I would really like to keep this as a combo for now. Pick up in Connecticut only; flexible as to meeting site. Asking $250 for the whole package.
