About Me:

Interests (Hobbies, favorite activities, etc.):

What I do for a living:

  1. Thanks for all the advise gentlemen. Here is my tackle box: Saltwater X-Rap - Sardine and Mackerel (2) X-Rap Subwalk - Silver and Gold (2) Super Shad Rap - Gold Shiner and Silver Shiner (2) SPRO Prime Buctail - All colors (dozen) Deadly Dick Long Jigging - Silver and Prism Scale (2) Acme Kastmaster Plain Spoon - Gold and Silver (4) Cripple Herring - Green and Blue (2) SPRO Ball Bearing Swivels (6) Reel: Chose all around reel for the low the maintenance fisherman. VS200 Line: PowerPro Spectra Braided - Green and Yellow Rod: St Croix Triumph Summation: I was able to stay under $1,000.00. Now all I need is a pond......and if I hold my mouth right! PS: I remain open to suggestion, I still have some lure money my wife doesn't know about!
  2. Guys, i've posted before that I'm not new to striper fishing but new to using articials like plugs and bucktails to catch stripers. In looking for an efficient way to fill the tackle box and get a decent selection of plugs,* Thanks (*edited - if you want to discuss the usefulness of a variety of plugs, please post the plugs here and ask the question - we don't allow promoting sales on other sites, copy the list of plugs - ask what folks think of the plugs if you really want to know. Not the prices, just the plugs. Thanks.)
  3. I recently spoke to a reputable rod builder about getting my first custom rod made. The three blanks he showed me were the GSB 1321m, mh and a Century (2 piece) all 11'. I liked the 1321 M but was told it can break using heavy plugs 3-4 oz., the century was described as indestructible but was a little more money (also two piece rod). I thought the GSB Mh was a little heavier and stiff. I fish mostly 3 oz or less plugs and bucktails using braid with a 704z. My next upgrade is a VS250 (when I save enough).I have heard the 1321 M is the go to rod for most. I am leaning towards that rod, but before I plunk down a good piece of change I wanted to ask those who know best. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
  4. Has anybody had to try to collect the value of lost tackle from their homeowners' policy after a fire? Were you told that you needed a rider of some kind to have the coverage that you wanted?
