  1. Hi there. I've had a ball servicing my bg 4500. It went so smoothly and I'm almost finished with servicing it. I've tried my hardest to get this retention spring back in and cannot for the life of me figure out why it will not. I have repeated the bearing atleast 4 times now and cannot get the spring in place. No matter what I seem to do, it will not snap back down. I've watched tackle advisors video and many others. Can I get some support here please?
  2. I ordered some stuff early last week and paid extra for expedited shipping. They showed everything in-stock. I finallty got someone on the phone and they had to order the spool of line from wherever and will expedite my order once they have everything in stock. So basically two weeks to ship 100 miles north. very disappointed. It is what it is and the guy I spoke to was very nice and I understand what happened. He asked if I wanted to drop the shipping to regular. I would think maybe they would offer me free shipping since they really didn't explain this on their site. I'm bummed. just needed to spool up some reels to get ready... TSB-0036-8 Tsunami TSTP5F-223 Yellow R/H 5in 1-3/8oz Talking Popper TSB-0036-1 Tsunami TSTP5F-101 Elec. Sch. 3. Hey guys, I'm looking for a recommendation for reel service for my Certate LT. Just want it cleaned and greased for spring. From what I'm learning some guys aren't comfortable handling some of the more technical design of this reel and wanted to know if I should just ship it to the manufacturer or if there are some reputable shops that anyone could recommend. Thanks in advance.
  4. Hello, I just had my VS250 services and returned to me. It came back with this bag. I am not sure what to do with it. Is it typical to receive a bag of parts after sending out your reel for servicing?
  5. No more "walk -ins" at Penn on Hunting Park Ave. I just went to drop off a reel to see a sign saying you can only ship the reel... and they charge another $16 to ship it back. W T F This is a major reason I buy Penn... so i can drive 10 mins and drop off my reels for service. You know, actually talk to a person.
  6. i have used the search function and cant seem to find any info regarding the seals/ o-rings for the VR series. has anyone been able to locate them?
  7. Shot this video a while back and thought I'd share.
  8. Recently purchased a Daiwa Sealine X 50HV and decided to open her up for some cleaning (after some luck with doing so on a Penn 113H). Welp I seem to have ran a snag here, and can't seem to get the spool properly lined up with the pinion gear along with the driveshaft that connects to the handle. I thought I was able to get it, but today after playing with the drag a little bit, I noticed the spool not moving. Any ideas or tips on how to get things aligned? lol if not any ideas or tips to the nearest reel repair service in Phoenix AZ?
  9. Questions for Van Staal owners. How many of you service the pinion gear / bearing by yourself? Does it require yearly service, greasing? Any change made to it on the new VSX version? From the few videos that I found, servicing it require some complicated tool that an average Joe does not have.
