Selling my gen 1 SOM L120-B reel. Came in red or blue Blue is a very pleasing shade. in superb condition, i dont even think i have any scratches on it. ive use it only when cod slaying, and deep drops at canyons slaying tiles infrequently over 15 years. holds a ton of line PE2 1200m, PE3 800m, PE4 600m, PE5 500m, PE7 400m, PE8 300m can use for heavy jigging, speed jigging, slow pitch down to 400 meters easily. drone fishing (especially using 30lb braid, like 1000m to play with) Slide baits from pier, live lining. Bottom chunking with lead. reel has twin drag, with washers on both side of spool rated for 20KG drag. steel gears. powerful reel. has line on it, which i can remove if you like. or you can just spool new line on top to save a few bucks. instead of a full 1000m roll. for a large reel, its easy to palm. designed like an accurate, can be upgraded if you take scissors to some accurate boss 665 carbon drags washers. i didnt change to carbon, as i dont see a need to. alan tani takes one apart for servicing here if you want to see insides. https://alantani.com/index.php?topic=211.0 i also opened it recently to reoil. its ready to rock and roll out of the box. gen 2,2.5 currently sells for a eye popping $1500+ design hasnt changed too much too. im not a fan of gen2, i like gen1's large spool lip. if youve experienced holding down braid as its peeling off, youll know why. not fun. got rid of box many years ago. thought id never sell it after paying over $1100 back then. looking for $520 shipped fedex insured 2day or overnight to your door.

Searched around for some info on Gomexus replacement handles for baitcasters. Seems like most Gomexus threads are about knobs/spinning reels. Wondering if anyone has any experience with their double paddle offerings. I have a few JDM Shimano Bantam and Metanium MGL's, and the stock handles in Japan are a bit short/small for my all American sausage fingers. They come with 84mm handles and sweet spot for me is 96-105mm. The paddles/knobs are also generally smaller for most JDM reels. Looks like pretty much any Gomexus 7x4 double paddle handle should be a direct fit for most Shimano low profiles, so a good amount of options out there on the bay. Appreciate any feedback on the items I've screenshot below. A bit weary about the potential quality gap feeling hand with putting a $28.95 after market handle on a $420 MSRP reel, but have heard good things about Gomexus. Side note: The $29 and $39 options in the pics both say they are compatible with the same list of Shimano baitcasters. I find this odd as I had always thought low profiles require either a swept or straight handle based on the design of the drag star, but maybe I was wrong in thinking this.

Hey Fellas, Just picked up a Penn 460L a couple of days ago (not even in my hands yet, I’m already itching) and would like to pair it with a power handle. Please post pics of what you are offering and the payment method will only be USPS MO. Thanks for looking “Tight lines”

Im planning on purchasing a surf rod that is 10' and is a medium heavy. The main plan for it is shark fishing but the reason its not a 12' heavy is because I dont want to use it for just sharks(for blues and stripers as well). I live in New Jersey so I will only be fishing for sand sharks and an occasional sand tiger if im lucky. But overall will a medium heavy 10' rod be fine if I hooked a sand shark/tiger over 5'? Thanks for the help
