  1. I would like to see that same video with some 20 -30# stripers jumping into his face! :-O
  2. Ben, Your parents sure did something right when raising you! This season always seems to bring out the very best in people, which is good. What is sad is that so many people forget this spirit of giving, peace, and healing shortly after. Finally this does not mean that we have to dig into our wallets all year long, a simple "Hello, how are you?" to a stranger can go a long way. What it amounts to is keeping this season in your actions all year long. Here's with you all Peace on Earth, Goodwill towards man!
  3. ????????
  4. "back bay" thanks!
  5. Lemme ask you a question...how do you know that the ice is thick enough to support your weight? On my way home from work, I drove past a lake where people were ice fishing. I was amazed to see them out there. I know for a fact that the lake was not froze over before this week, and then yesterday we had all that rain! No way would you have ever gotten me out there!
  6. Arg! I can't believe I actually asked that question! I must have had a synapse misfire!
  7. AWESOME! As the father of 2 beautiful girls myself, I can tell Shawn first hand that there is NOTHING like a "daddy's little girl"! Enjoy them Shawn! You'll be surprised how fast the time will fly by!
  8. I started listening to Howard when he was on WNnnnnnnnnbc, and I listened to him when he started on the FM dial, and as his network grew and grew. But I have not listened to Howard over the past couple of years that much. I find that Howard has started to become one of the things he hates .... IMUS! He has lost his edge, IMHO. I would at this point listen to O&A. Hopefully Howard's new atmosphere will bring him back that edge, and if that is the point I will once again join the fold! I am looking forward to it.

  10. If you are a lilly-livered-chicken-poop like me who hibernates when the temps drop below 40, you may find yourself staring at the walls, counting down the days until spring, going out of your mind with bordom. Perhaps a good book will help pass some of the time. Please allow me to suggest, "Striper Wars". "Striper Wars is a tale replete with heroes--and some villains--as the struggle to save the striper migrated down the coast from Massachusetts to Maryland. Russell introduces us to a postman at arms against a burly trap-net fisherman, a renowned state governor caving to special interests, and a **** maker fighting alongside marine biologists. And he describes how champions of this singular fish blocked power plants and New York's Westway Project that would otherwise compromise its habitat. Unfortunately, those who cheered the triumphant ending to the campaign, as the coastal states enacted measures that enabled the striped bass to make its comeback, have found the peace transitory--there is now a new enemy emerging on the front."
  11. Mine or yours? Sorry
  12. Not ALL Americans should eat shellfish 2 x a week. As much as I love it, excessive amounts of shellfish (and 'yes' 2 times a week is excessive for me) will cause on of my joints (ankle, wrist, knee) to swell up, get hot to the touch, and become VERY painful. Gout!
  13. What is everyone's opinion on these two locations? Both of these are equal distance for me, so that is not a big deal. I seem to have better luck at Sandy Hook, but I know so many people love IBSP! What am I not seeing?
  14. Those blood sucking bugs may be too much to resist
  15. I thought this post had something to do with a religious ceremony on the beach! Goodness ^ knows I could use some divine intervention. Hey! Are there any of those shows in NJ?
  16. Can some one please define this term (drag) in a way that a newbie might understand?
  17. I don't know weather I should congratulate you. or send you my condolences.
  18. You were out there fishing TODAY?!?!
  19. Your neighbor was a Scarlet Knights fan!:-P
  20. I was reading in the Asbury Park Press' fishing section on Friday, a report from a charter boat captain. He was saying how the water temperature was just about at the borderline for good stripper fishing. Being the neophyte that I am, I was hoping that someone, or more than one, can tell me what is the best water temperature range for stripped bass? How about for blue fish? Is there someplace on the 'net that provides a daily account of the water temperatures? Thanks!
  21. Howdy All! Just took up fishing this past summer, and had a blast. Hopefully with what I learn here I will be better prepared come next spring!
