  12. I can only state what I was taught years ago. Of course since it has never happened, it is guess work. The reactor is a stainless steel enclosed furnace with the necular fuel making heat and creating steam. Since there is no water to cool the reactor, it will continue to heat up until it melts the stainless steel vessel and the concrete it is sitting in. At this point, your guess and the scientists are guessing how far into the earths crust it will melt down into until it cools down and solidifies. During this procedure, a lot of radiation could be released. Since it has never happened, its all theory. We will have a better idea if it happens. Not very comforting.
  13. When I wish someone a "Merry Christmas", I am asking them to enjoy my holiday. Its my holiday and I hope you enjoy it. Personally, I do not give a hoot whether its their holiday or not.
  14. How many bearings does a reel need? Actually- NONE. If you will recall, back in the fiftys and early 60's the best reels had none. Mitchell 300, Penn reels and Ocean Citys for the most part were no ball bearings. Today, I would say three bearings is sufficient. Pinion Bearing, and 2 main gear bearings for a spinner, and 2 spool bearings and a pinion bearing for a conventional are sufficient. One way clutch bearing is optional, but shouldn,t be considered a true bearing. Its sole purpose is to stop handle from reversing. Manufactures have you believing more bearings make better reels, but thats a selling point, not factual. They are so desperate the put 2 bearings under the line roller. But, people are gullible and believe what they are told.
