I bought a Field and Stream Eagle Talon 12ft kayak that’s in need of a rod holder for in between my legs when I bought it there was not one with it it has the factory mount but no rod holder can anyone help me locate one?

I am a 16 and a beginner just needing answers on some starter gear for trolling on my Eagle Talon 12ft for strippers in a freshwater lake with live bait. I was looking into the okuma Magda 20DXTLC for my reel and a tsunami tough tip live bait rod whould that be good? The reel only has 15lbs of drag is that enough for a larger striper? Is the rod the right action for what I am doing? What line and leaders should I use? How should I rig up the live bait?

I am trying to get into trolling for freshwater stripers from my kayak I have 20lbs mono with 12lbs leader. I will be using live bait with 1oz egg sinkers. I have made a post a few days ago but couldn’t get one answer. The two rods I am looking at are the Ugly Stik Tiger: Length- 7ft Line weight-20-50 Lure Weight- 1-6oz Ugly Stik Striper: Length- 7ft Line Weight- 10-25lbs Lure Weight- 3/8-1oz

Will a ugly stick gx2 be fine for a trolling rod for stripers it’s a 6,6 rod with a medium action.

So do you think that the striper model will be fine even if I go an ounce or two over and troll with it Or should I go with the tiger.

No barley any current in out lake and don’t fish very deep.

Where I fish fish are close to 10lbs and up but average is around 10. The largest fish in our lake is 53lbs in 2000. Will it be able to hand what I do with it. I troll with live bait with a egg sinker. Is that too much lure weight for it ?

Well now I will for sure look into it. I don’t know much on like lure weight and stuff for rods but is it enough for the 1oz egg singer and the live fish on the end and maybe a planer board?
