A Giant Wind Farm Is Taking Root Off Massachusetts
pescatore replied to codfish's topic in Massachusetts Fishing
If you're gonna cite a dumpster fire like the Manhattan Institute, at least say so. -
I used the horizontal SeaSuckers for years, never had a failure. The vacuum pump is pretty impressive.

I live a half-mile from the river and fish it a ton. I don't fish the spawn and agree on closure during the spawn, but regularly catch salmon parr at other times of year. They're fairly aggressive and if I hook one there are almost always others in the same spot. That said, if they're banging my fly, I move on to another spot for the same reason I don't fish the spawn.

Can't believe I missed this. If it doesn't work out with BG_NJ I'll take it shipped to MA.

Somebody's playing with LLMs.

Looks like a pretty big brush fire out by Greenhalge Point right now. Which one of you clowns was smoking in the woods today? Trucks from at least five towns responding.

Not my photo, posted by someone else on FB. This was at the chu last weekend. I was fishing a gate in the general area of Tahanto last Sunday and saw possibly the same eagle swoop down and take a fish at the surface. Pretty damn cool.

I had good luck with the schminnows on the open beaches but crushed em on gurglers around the mangroves.

I was in Sanibel a few years ago and stopped by Norm Zeigler's shop. After he sold me a couple of Schminnows, he advised me to use 30 lb tippet for snook. I though he was nuts until I saw what even a 24" snook does to a tippet. They fight like hell and those mouth are TOUGH. They put on a nice aerial display in the mangroves too!

Turtle Kraals? Edit: Nevermind, already asked... If you get up to Sugarloaf, the conch fritters at Mangrove Mama's are killer.

Another solid brew from southeastern CT. Not as good as their Burst, but you don't want a juice bomb every day. Nice hop bite to this one.

You need to lay down the law with these bastards, guy down the street from me has put the local beavers on notice.

Clocktown Brewing Co in Thomaston CT. 9% Belgian Ale that drinks smooooth. Lots of great brews, they're not IPA-crazy like so many other breweries.

In my neck of the woods (north central MA) it was blue jays. They just disappeared for a few years, now they're everywhere again. -
That background have anything to do with Jim's shop in Worcester?

Respectfully, I'm keeping it available at asking price. -

Lawn cast once, never touched water. Just not the right line for my rod. $55 shipped to continental US.

In, but you wouldn't catch me dead there on opening day.

Reservoir is about as low as I've ever seen it right now.

Massachusetts hunting/fishing fee increase
pescatore replied to stinky1's topic in Massachusetts Fishing
300% increase for all resident stamps/permits seems out of whack to me. -
What's everyone tying for this years saltwater!?
pescatore replied to DaleG603's topic in Fly Fishing
Going kind of old school this year, tying up a bunch of patterns from Salt Water Flies (1972). Blondes, seaducers, keel flies, some interesting crab patterns.
