I'm not sure you can service Stradics SW with Shimano USA. If that's important to you, you can give them a call and ask.
-
I got this tool few months ago and found it pretty useful for benchmarking how much drag I typically set by hand. Especially useful for getting that feel on 0.8 PE braid. You can also test braid breaking strength on it too with a pair of Kamiwaza Dual PE Sticks or similar.

So you started this with the lightest setup question. VS is on the opposite spectrum, just making sure you know, this changes setup recommendation between someone looking for ultimate lightness to something else. Nothing wrong looking at all options, maybe VS ends up best for type of fishing you want to do. I don't fish VS so I don't dunk my shimano reels.

Didn't know they have $600+ rods. I'm surprised that it this price point they only give you titanium with SIC rings. For that price it would be nice to see torzite rings. Where and what are you fishing for with these rods?
-
I think they use SIC rings.

Agreed and regarding DEC, I think they really try and I also heard they are thin. Drone enforcement may fall under NYS Park Police I think or both and I was referring to other non fishing related NYS Park violations and lack of response and enforcement.
-
This is good news, but there is no enforcement in NY this is by far the biggest problem. Sometimes I wonder if NYS Park police is on early retirement and if they only react to serious crimes. I'm sure I don't have the full picture, but what it seems like probably encouraged on supervisor level. Few times I called dispatch, they don't respond.

Shimano gears are not known to be extremely precise to begin with, why you get more play (gear lash) by design to allow for imperfections. But it's a very interesting thought / theory never the less. I thought about something like that but for body molds.

The rumor has it, the new rotor designer was inspired by shape of an egg. Simple and brilliant lol.

Pay to win = pay to catch fish. As fishing stock gets depleted any advantage will be fair play to those who can afford the new tech.

I'm new York times article, "In the Atlantic Ocean, Subtle Shifts Hint at Dramatic Dangers", which is interactive with some cool animations is speaks to few theories, studies, disagreement s and historical references including Labrador current I mentioned earlier in this topic. It is quiet an interesting read. It's difficult to model all the variables into a computer to even guess an outcome and time frame of the changes. Edit - You can't post the commercial link, tell em to Google it ~ Sudsy sometimes gets hidden behind nytimes pay wall. Try from phone and PC, sometimes it just works.
