Am glad the surgery went well. Just take it easy and heal. The season is very young now. Just like MC55 the bass have not woke up yet. Also they Army corp of engineers are not done screwing up the beach front yet. May as well wait until they get done pumping the sand

If it broke up I am sure the debris field is wide spread. After that last storm and the 20'+ waves I am sure unless it was an anchor... it was moved all over the place. Radar tower and antennas may be ripped off and can be pulled up. Not sure how much of the hull is intact. I am sure they will need to really go over the entire area so that come next spring the party boats don't smack something out there. When I ran my 24' angler I forgot about the tugboat wreck off of IBSP. On a real low tide some of that structure can poke out of the water. I almost ran over it at mid tide. Just missed some of the pipes poking up. I made sure to mark it on my charter after that

that must be fun with the coldair and cold weather. Looking at where they are anchored up it looks like its almost on the south sholes where the sand builds up coming out of the inlet or at the drip off. The sand out in that area is very soft and shifty. I bet that wreck is sucked into the sand pretty deep.

OK has anyone thought about a tournament with the winner catching the first bass of 2024? Entry fee $2 winner takes all. Just a thought. Might be fun. No boat fish..just first keeper off the sand.

Prayers for a successful surgery and speedy recovery.

Taking this time to wish everyone a very Merry Christmas. Safe travels if your out on the road. May your tackle bag be restocked with a new supply of your favorite lures and maybe a few new pattern ones as well.

I hope they did a head count to make sure everyone got off the beach.

Its been a long time as I am landlocked here. Still have in my bucket list a return to the sand some fall for one last bass. Yeah I hear you about the replenishment on the beach. Those little rockpiles were always fun to work. I left the suds back in 2003 and migrated a bit West.... to Montana. Got to play with the deer elk and all of the other wildlife out there. Moved to Indiana 5 yrs ago. I guess reverse migration takes longer as I am getting older. On the plus side I still have some of my old trusty plugs and my sluggos w/ lead heads. I don't have my old fly rod but I do have a couple of fly rods from Montana. Plenty of backing on them. I would love to hook up a bass and give them an even fight. See who wins. Well Good luck out there Merry Christmas and keep wetting a line My Crystal Ball never let me down.

don't count on the fat lady singing. I broke out my old crystal ball and checked.... I say week two in January will mark the movement of the fish out into the warmer water offshore. That being said there will still be small to close to keeper fish hanging around just not in large numbers. I always liked to work the rocks * this time of year. Always found one or two in there. I would say any structure should hold a fish or two just to keep the interest going. My Moto is never say never.

This is the time of year I use to go to light tackle my go to lures were a school bus 6" bomber plug and the one that always seemed to work especially at dusk was a white lead head with a 6" gray/white sluggo eel threaded on the hook. Back in the day it was the closest we had to sand eel imitations.

This always use to be the fun time to fish. Try some lures that no one else has and see if they work I kinda thought at some point the fish get smart and can recognize the same ol same ol lures being thrown at them. They tease you by tail slapping them but do not take it. Try something really different, different color or different lure all together. You may be surprised that they start wacking it when now one else can buy a hit. Even better is when the others come over and ask what are you using and they see it nothing even close to what they have in the bag. Just tell them its a lure your kid got you for Christmas last year on a closeout special. Not only will you have a fish dor dinner but you can hear the other guys walk off the beach grumbling about how they will never find that magic lure in the local shop
