    Pants

Shorts, neoprene booties, when no rocks/jetties are involved. Same gear for rocks/jetties, just change out footwear to korkers Cold weather, surf, shallow water with rocks it’s time for waders (add korkers for rocks as needed) Cold weather on jetties, NO WADERS. Grundens rain pants and korkers. First season with neoprene booties. A pleasure to wear. Keeps your body temp down when walking in surf. Very comfortable and lets the water cool you off when the summer heat kicks in. Good luck !
  2. Thanks for the recommendations. I didn’t realize how expensive these could get. Looks like I’ll be searching for a used one if I can find it.
  3. Looking for recommendations on roof rod racks that have a reel lock. Thanks
  4. A more recent simpler, quicker read with some seemingly valid points. Opinion piece in 2021 based off 2005 study. The Gradual and Sudden Decline of Striped Bass
  5. I found a past study done in 2005, interesting findings on the impact of eliminating harvesting. Still looking for a more recent one, will post what I find. The Economics of Recreational and Commercial Striped Bass Fishing. https://www.southwickassociates.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/10/Striped_Bass.pdf
  6. Have any recent studies been released as to what the financial impact would be if striped bass “harvesting” was eliminated for any extended period of time?
  7. When I load up my night bag I use my suspenders. It’s just too heavy. I’m not going in the surf past my knees and my surf top helps keep water out of waders if I take a fall. Wearing the surf belt loose around the waist helps alleviate the back pain. The suspenders distribute the weight and keep it off your back. If I’m going with my small surf bag I don’t use suspenders unless I know I’ll be out walking for a few hrs. Only used the suspenders for a few months towards the end of last season after I saw a few guys wearing them. They seem to work well. Bought an inexpensive pair and they worked for me. No need to invest alot of money at this point. I’m going for comfort and utility. Good luck !

  9. Does that sheath have a belt loop? Thanks
  10. I wish had some zip ties and a lanyard last night on the beach. Last time I make that mistake. Lesson learned.
  11. Thanks, does the sheath have a belt loop or clip?
  12. Great suggestion, thanks. If I can get it on sale it looks to be a no brainer.

  14. Give “The Complete Book of Striped Bass Fishing” by Nick Karas a try. It was mentioned earlier. If you enjoy reading different stories about landing fish “A Season On The Edge” by John Skinner was excellent. Great topic, thanks !
