I like fishing solo, you focus on fishing more. However being on a great bite with a buddy or 2 is much more fun

All good sir, Everything you and everyone has said is great advice and correct, I just feel that him being a beginner with bucktailing shouldn’t over think it and stick to the basics for now, and when he gets confident with bucktails, he should apply these more advance tips you and a few other guys are giving him

Im sure what you developed is a better option in the surf but I’ve thrown minnow head bucktails in the surf jigging for fluke for years and literally get a hit or hookup up at over a 50% clip. So to say it’s not a good choice is wrong

Weight is the most important aspect by far, wouldn’t worry about head style as much, stick to smilin bill and bullet heads as they are easily available, Don’t use minnow head bucktails as the eye placement is more designed for vertical jigging, unless you are targeting fluke from shore, Don’t get carried away with colors either stick to white and have a multiple weights. Good luck !

all these tips are great, But another important thing to do is to preheat your molds and get a layer of carbon on it if you can, makes life easier. Good luck!

It is a sweet bag though lol, but I was more interested in the fact that simply searching for Muskie gear in general can open striper anglers up to some new gear and tackle that we might have never seen before

Slammer handle on Spinfisher IV problem
Bloody Bucktail replied to Bloody Bucktail's topic in Main Forum
Yes I always have it down (6oclock) and the spool up when I cast on my VS , But when I load back it falls to 3 oclock, If i start at 3 everything is fine and it wont move, Its just takes a few cranks to get it at 3 with the spool up and the roller out of the way, Maybe I should just always cast at 3 and manually move the roller out of the way, Just slightly annoying lol -
Like $275, But I was a rich single man at the time

I upgraded my Spinfisher IV handle/knob to the Slammer handle assembly, however when I load the rod back to cast, the handle tends to fall down towards the rod from the weight and spins the rotor, I tried opening the reel up to add more grease to to stiffing up the gears and no luck, any suggestions ?

So last year i was looking for a Plug storage bag/box and couldn't find what I was looking for. So I decided started to search for Muskie storage boxes because I know they use big baits and figured these country boys might have something we have never seen before on the coast and I came across a company called Lakewood storage, Thought I'd share it with you guys. And Post pics of your Plug storage bags/boxes
