  1. Thanks! I stumbled upon mystic just before I saw your post and found a new body for $29. Really appreciate your recommendation.
  2. Broke the foot off of my penn slammer iii this evening. Did JB weld work?
  3. 9PM - 3AM, out front OCo and MoCo. No hits. SP minnows, hard/soft swim baits. Pressure 30.20 inHg. Temp 41 F. OC water clarity unknown (didn’t turn on lights). MoCo water clarity chocolate milk.
  4. I’ll be out there tonight. For those who are heading out, best of luck!
  5. It’s a new month, let’s get this started! Report as little or as much detail as you would like to provide the reader but please don't post specific street names or areas. A specific spot is too much information! It's not like telling a friend or two, posting it here is telling thousands. Doing so only creates crowds, garbage, and loss of our spots. Try to keep other conversations, inquires, and rants in separate threads. For example, you can say that you caught fish in Ocean County but saying that you got them at Ocean Beach is a no-no. The terms to use are.......... Monmouth County Ocean County Atlantic County Cape May County North Jersey for the Hudson and other backwaters. County name plus "In the back" for Inlets, Rivers, and Bays.
  6. Moco, 4:30-8:30AM this morning, 1 x 21-23” striper just after sunrise on an SP Minnow (purple, silver, black). Water was calm/flat. Pressure 30 inHg. Temperature unknown.
  7. Deleted - posted in wrong thread.
  8. Have a Penn Slammer III 4500 on a 7 foot rod and was able to cast 2-3 oz lures just as far as folks with 10-12 foot rods. Not sure if that says more about my casting ability or theirs, but I’ve been happy with my throws using the 4500
  9. Super new here, sorry if I missed it - is there a list of rules somewhere? Would have been happy to share my locations, just to be helpful to others ... but won’t if it breaks the rules. Edit: saw your mention of counties, and the same suggestion in another post. Is this the only level of detail we can provide? Is town info too detailed?
  10. I’m really digging these other options you mentioned - thanks for the advice! Any other companies you can think of that offer solid ocean kayaks? Thanks again.
  11. Been looking to start kayak fishing and read an article that the Hobie Mirage Pro wasn’t suitable for the rough seas. Anyone know why? What should I be looking for if I want the most stable kayak I can find? Does width of the kayak not play a major role in stability? Is it the high center of gravity that makes it less suitable for rough seas? I would have expected the Mirage Pro to be more stable than most alternatives. *
