  1. I miss my big red fishing! Big guys in the Port Aransas area, as well. Nice pics!
  2. I am looking at areas in and around gameland area 211. I can stay at the Gap. Familiar with this area? Looks pretty rugged to access the NE end of the preserve which is up my alley.
  3. Naw, you are coming across as some sanctimonious a-hole making assumptions. Once again to all the others who reached-out (PM, etc.) thanks!
  4. Good for you. Want a cookie? To the other guys: thanks for the suggestions and links. Will definitely check out all the suggestions.
  5. I am on base at JB MDL. Not far from you. Yes, fly fishing. I haven't owned or used bait chucking gear in decades, lol. Thanks for the info! Cheers, G
  6. Hi PA Trout fishers. Just got done with a total skunk-job in VT (Peru wilderness area). Maybe the water has gotten too cold and the fish have moved into warmer deeper pools far downstream. Anyways, any areas in central to eastern PA that remains fishable mid to late fall? Are there any decent private waters accessible by rod fee non-guided (e.g., Mossy creek in VA)? Thanks for any nuggets of info! Cheers, G

  8. Thanks! I stopped by yesterday (on my way to Sandy Hook). The guys at the gate gave me the sheet for Colts Neck. I didn't have time to traverse back and forth between the two places (Colts Neck and back to the Pier). Are the beach areas immediately east and west of the pier fishable? If not, I am going to pass. As previously mentioned, I am fly casting. And fly casting from a pier-especially an elevated one-isn't an easy thing or even a desirable thing to do! Cheers, G
  9. Next question: cool tavern/pub somewhere close to the SH entrance?
  10. I don't know anybody (specifically) at either location and calling their info., numbers has proved to be a waste of time (no definitive answers). Calling the NPS SH park information line gets me to a voicemail inbox. Gotta love the gubment, lol...
  11. Quick question for SH/Earle experts: Reviewing a NPS service map for the SH area. The map shows a coast guard off limits area. Is this area accessible for us active duty peeps? Earle: are the shore areas just easy and west of the weapons pier open to fishing? I am a flyrodder and this east wind is no bueno for fly casting the surf. Have the day off from work and was thinking of fishing some bayside area(s). TIA! G
  12. Ahhhhhhhhhh, another glorious day and H Rotten Clinton IS NOT President... Remember peeps: please have all your liberals spayed and neutered. #KAG #walkaway
  13. Hi Guys, Anybody have the G2 with respect to the NG beach at Girt? Thinking about checking it out. (fly rodding for blues) TIA! G
  14. Thanks guy! Looks like lots of decent suggestions. Cheers, G
  15. Hey Guys, Can you reveal your favorite means/resource for reviewing Jersey tide predictions? Much Obliged! G
  16. Hi Guys, Can you recommend decent shock tippet for blues? Something that isn't a PITA to work with and plays well with knotting to the leader and fly? Preferably, something that can be bought on Amazon P. TIA! G P.S. I am casting a 8 wt., rod. What size leader would you suggest for blues?
  17. Howdy, Looking for some blues in the surf. Pelagics in the surf would be an added bonus! Cheers, G
  18. Hi Mike, Pretty well versed on both fresh and salt fly rodding. Fished the Texas Laguna Madre for years (reds, specks, etc.). Looking to pick a few blues from the surf. Any type of near shore pelagic would be a bonus! Cheers, G
