I thought only USA were 2 hole. I’ll take any foot as long as it’s 2 hole. -

Vs 150 spool bonding to frame and snapping fish off under heavy pressure
TimSF replied to Snookmaster21's topic in Main Forum
Yeah dude 10-20 lb snook are no problem with a 150, you’ll never run into any issues if that’s how you’re fishing the reel. Probably got it on a 1088… -

For sure! A breeder class 20# snook will give that reel a run for its money in an inlet but it definitely won’t stress it out like a tarpon would in the same conditions. also, don’t fish locked drag. If you need to put pressure on the fish, palm the spool. what rod are you using? -
Vs 150 spool bonding to frame and snapping fish off under heavy pressure

Same thing would have happened with the new 150. Nothing on that reel is beefy enough to handle tarpon. Great little reel for spillways or the beach but if you’re fishing a bridge with heavy current and big fish you’re heavily under gunned. -

I’d stay far far away from tarpon with a 150. -
Looking to work out some type of trade for a Zeebaas (preferably silver.) will post pictures in the AM. Also willing to include a KNE1326 if you have a Zeebaas/rod combo you’d be willing to part with.

Did you turn your land based luck around? -
Damn i was hoping somebody would report negatively… looks like im gonna have to just buy the 10’7
-
Definitely the same blank, just different colors.
-
Anybody using these yet? Looks like they are on the market now. Looks like both models are built on the same blank. The forged uses SS/SIC Fuji K’s and the saltx uses titanium/sic k’s or RV’s depending on the model. Insane price points considering the components.
-
Yeah i remember how hard mine was to load with anything under 2 or 2.5. Which also reminded me of why I got rid of it lol. I decided on the 1088. I feel like I’ll be throwing the lower end far more often anyway. Haven’t used that blank before so I’m pretty excited

Im in South Florida. My builder got them from a friend of his. I could see about maybe having one shipped up your way but that’s going to be unbelievably expensive. sorry to hear about your 1088’s untimely demise. I was fishing a jetty a couple years ago and some idiot snagged my lure while i was casting. I think we’ve heard the same loud noise. Probably felt the same heartbreak that immediately follows too.
-
My buddy who wraps most of my stuff is awesome and I’m lucky enough to get a call when he gets his hands on good blanks. by laying into 3.25, you mean casting as hard as you can? If that’s the case I’m probably sold on the 1088. I remember My old 1089 being such a broom stick and throwing anything under 2 sucked.
-
I know there’s no such thing, but I’m looking into building one of these two built as a “one rod” solution for the pier/jetty. I really Want a 1088 but I’m not sure if it can actually handle the full 1-4 oz range. 1.5 oz plugs are a must and a 3ish oz cobia jig is also a must. I have a whip/snap style cast if that helps. I’ll be pairing it with a vsx250

Sorry for the late answer! I didn’t see your reply! im an idiot and forgot to mention I’m only looking for a black one. But this is a sweet deal, so if anybody looking through this thread wants to take windknot up in his offer, feel free!

Just need the handle, no hub or knob. Thanks!

Looking to trade or sell my backup KNE 1326. It has American Tackle Titanium guides. $450 shipped g&s buyer pays fees If trading, would prefer another 11’ rated 2-6 or 3-8. Maybe a legend or something comparable. Thanks for looking.
