  1. Was able to get to the beach after a year. Fished the short beach Monday, just sharks. Tuesday the beach opened and I went south. Found a spot that held some fish. Only caught on evening/ early night low tide. Two drum landed Tuesday evening. One drum landed and one lost in the wash Wednesday evening. Not sure why nothing happened on the early morning low tides. Pretty certain I know why I only caught on the low. I couldn't hit the spot during high. Tuesday night and Wednesday I needed 10 to hold. A funny thing happened. My phone updated and I didn't realize I needed to restart it. Had no cell service because of it. Sent the wife texts to check in only to find out later they never went thru. Wife was worried and panicked she didn't hear from me. She called her sister who lives on the shore. They couldn't get anyone at the ranger station on the phone so SIL called a retired ranger friend who called someone working at the station. They sent a ranger out looking for me. Ranger found me and called SIL. Wife was pretty pissed haha!
  2. My opinion if you're talking AI drum is go whenever you can and don't give wind direction much thought. As long as you can fish effectively anyway. Seen a LOT of fish caught on a NE wind. Caught a few myself on that NE as well. Most will tell you NE is terrible for drum. To me that is wrong. Find the right spot and you will catch. That said I would pick a west wind first. Only because as an average caster I can get a bait out further if/ when needed. Longer casters will probably say a SE. Also I'd rather take a cloudy day with any wind direction over a sunny day with that preferred SE.
  3. Hey Marcus do you know if that's the turtle closure still or storm damage or both?
  4. I like fishing on the moon phases especially the new. Got to change that this fall it seems. Probably be lucky to make it out at all the way it seems now.
  5. I remember Plug giving it to him pretty good!
  6. In all seriousness early October could be the best time to be at AI. Throw a heaver out with a fish head for a big drum. If you hook up you won't be disappointed! Pitch metal for albies/blues. Blues will keep you busy. Don't forget a rod for casting for fluke.. Also don't forget a stick for kingfish to eat. Catch a kingfish, fillet it and pitch its head out asap. Probably run into pompano on your bait rig also. If it's still warm the grey drum will still be around....
  7. I remember someone live lining a sand shark one time. Same guy???? Haha.
  8. Well I'm supposed to be in canada right now fishing for muskie. Since they won't let me in I will be making lots of beach trips this fall! Hope everyone has a great fall season!
  9. Lack of fishing reports have nothing to do with covid. Most don't want to post reports anymore. That's all it is.
  10. Lynn Jarman passed???? Wow. I used to go into Delmarva Sports Center all the time. Still have two squidders I bought from Lynn. Used to stop by Delmarva and then Harbor Tackle on the way to AI. Spent a lot of money at both.
  11. My opinion fresh bait at the shore ended when harbor tackle went out of business. Nobody else cares about providing fresh bait.
  12. Is he still working??? Got a new ride that needs a rack!
  13. Finally made it by Gene's place today and got the rack installed. Ready to fish next week!
  14. Yeah I'm planning on lots of trips this fall. 3 weeks time the family is going to be in Bethany for a week. Gonna put some time in at 3r's.
  15. Thank you for the heads up!!! I called my BIL who lives in the area and he got a pass for my truck. They expect to run out today or tomorrow at the latest.
  16. My wife had a good friend, her husband, and sister travel to somewhere in new York in early March to a wedding. All three came back to Maryland with it. Husband and sister recovered, the friend passed.
  17. My sticker is not expired. It's good till november2020. It's just torn up from removing it from a vehicle I traded in.
  18. The sticker is no problem. I had a broken windshield replaced years ago and was told to peel the old sticker off and bring it to the ranger station and they would give me a new one. It was no problem. The problem is people are saying the ranger station is not open so I can't get a new one. I doubt my partially torn up sticker that is valid thru October is gonna be accepted by the rangers.
  19. Not that it matters much. My opinion Maryland is going to close parks. That's a mistake in my view
  20. Well how about this. I have a tag good till end of October this year. I got a new truck so I peeled off the tag before I traded it in. If I tape it on the windshield of my new truck am I still ok? I have different tag numbers now so they won't match the sticker. Betcha they will say no.
  21. Now is the best time of year to fish imo. Before all the idiots get out. Jerkbaits work fine but I believe a rattle bait is better. Red eye shad is my choice. Fish it in a lift drop retrieve. Most strikes will occur when the bait is falling. Throw it parallel to the bank in 15 to 20 feet of water. Let it fall all the way to the bottom but watch your line they will eat it as it drops. Then fish it in a lift drop retrieve. 2nd choice would be a ned rig.
  22. Thanks Marcus!
  23. Yea he did my last rack.
