  1. Another vote for the Palomar Knot when tying directly to hook. Jigs, lures without split rings, etc., I use a loop knot. FG knot when joining mono/fluoro leader to braid.
  2. Got it! Again, the waders already sold to a SOL User that must have read the thread prior to it closing, so I won’t need to reread the rules nor need to repost them. Thanks again broski. Is this your website? If not, great job “policing” it. Hope they’re paying ya.
  3. Anyone own both the 6k and 8k and care to compare?
  4. Looking to pair a Shimano Thunnus to my Mojo 10'6" 2-6 oz rod for chucking bait. The Thunnus 6k and 8k models weight difference is only 1.5 oz, but the 8k offers roughly 50 yard more line capacity. Anyone know if the physical sizing between the two is different and is 1.5 oz more weight worth the extra 50 yard line capacity? I'm planning on pairing either reel with 30 lb braid. Any suggestions?
  5. Good sized great white shark surfaced in NJ and stole a boats chum bag *
  6. Very true. I couldn’t be happier with the Mojos. I think if it snaps during a fish battle, it’s probably a user error (high-sticking, etc).
  7. Not feeling very confident right now as I just purchased a Mojo 10'6" 2-6 oz rod and ordered a 3/4-4oz tip section from St. Croix. Go figure. Although, I'm not fishing for strippers in the canal.
  8. Hello all, Quick question; what are your opinions on buying a used Calusa 8' 3/8" 1.5 lbs/foot cast net vs. buying a brand new Barracuda Tackle 8' 3/8" 1.25 lbs/foot net? I'm trying to way my options as I can get either for $120. The used Calusa net is said to have no holes or been repaired. Seller states its been sitting in a closet for two years. Is a used Calusa worth $120 and that much better than a new Barracuda net? I was leaning toward the Barracuda until I saw the used Calusa for the same price. Net will be used for pinfish, greenbacks and other white bait from shore and in the surf. Any help is greatly appreciated.
  9. I got a pair of lightly used Simms G3 stocking foot waders I'd part with. Size Medium-King. I'm also 5' 11" and weigh about 195-200lbs. I wear a US Size 10.5/11 shoe. They fit me great without being overly baggy or to tight. I got them instead of a Large because their large ran big on me when trying them on. The medium-king size allows me to fully squat or climb without feeling restrictive or to tight. They've sat in my closet since moving to FL. Used in the winter streams up North during steelhead season. Only worn them 10-12 times. I can take pics once out of work if you'd like. If not, I'll probably end up posting on here or flea bay. I'll let them go for $275 shipped within US. I purchased them brand new in 2016 and paid $415. Simms stand behind their products and are made in the USA. They're well constructed and my pair have zero leaks, rips or damages of any type. Attached are what they look like (again, I can post pics after work if you'd like)...
  10. Thank you for your extensive, hard work!
  11. @aquaholik Out of curiosity, and without having to read through 50+ post, what is your surf and jetty fishing recommendation for 20, 30 and 40 lb line? I was looking for a high-vis braid but I'll settle on a less visible line for quality and S/W ratio. P.S. sorry if you've been asked this a thousand times. Just wondering if the braid I been using (Sufix 832 in 20, 30 and 40) lives up to its high reviews.
  12. Yes, I’ve heard about the Mojo reel seats. You’d think they’d of recalled them or at least fix the issues prior to selling more. I’m still undecided but I’m debating between the three rods I’ve mentioned. Wish the Airwave Elite wasn’t a stiffer rod. I’d buy it for it’s solid hardware but not sure I want to with people saying it’s a stiff rod. Im hoping someone can chime in regarding the feel and action of the Star Stellar surf rod in the 10’6” or 11’.
  13. Are you saying that the Airwave Elite 11' 1-4oz is a lot more stiffer than that of the Mojo 10'6" 3/4-4? I was leaning toward an Airwave Elite as it has the much desirable K-guides. Are the Mojo guides not as good?
