I just got a VR150, first time i took it out to the beach was two weeks ago and I love it, comes with the tool and I put the bailess kit on it. Spooled it up with some 30lb suffix and hooked up with some 20" schoolies right away , christened it the first day out. It is smooth and lightweight, exactly what I was looking for. Only time will tell how robust it is, I got it New in the box for $400. I like that you can take it apart and service it yourself, and you can buy different size spools for it as well.

Sweet ride, but where are the pole holders? lol

Great shop that had everything you could ever need or think of. It reminded me of the old local hardware stores i would go to as a kid with my dad. Another one gone.

Me and my buddies shoot a couple of tactical matches in New Jersey, Nothing fancy. Here is what I look for in a round that i will reload. The price of the brass, The amount of gunpowder used to push the projectile, the availability of components and the amount of load data available. if you belong to a gun range or a club just ask other shooters what they use and what they prefer as well as any other or advice they might offer. Good brass, Good dies, a proven powder that will preform well in your application, Federal or CCI primers, Hornady and sierra projectiles are a good start. When I started i just had a reloading manual, now the internet has so much available information it makes it much easier. this is a pic of the last match 300 yard prone

I started with a RCBS rockchucker kit back in 1994, it has everything you need to get started and i still use it to this day. it is a single stage press and it has reloaded tens of thousands of rounds, both rifle and pistol, the dies are the most critical part as far as accuracy goes. that is where I would invest the money as you spoke about the 6.5 Creed, that is a tack driver with the right load. I like Midway for a lot of my reloading equipment, and reloadersnest.com has good info as well as 6BR.com on loads and load data. A digital scale is a must for accuracy loads.here is a pic of my simple set up, i was loading up some 6 BR rounds for a match. Good luck and have fun.

Thanks Gill, This XJ was going to the scrap yard and I got it from my friends kid for nothing.New parts and a lot of time and some broken knuckles. There are a bunch of these trucks around for sale, see you out there.

Do not go too high with a suspension lift as it can cause problems with the geometry of the truck as far as steering, the easiest part about working on an old jeep is ordering the parts, the hardest part about working on an old jeep is dealing with the rusty hardware, they are great trucks. pic of my jeep,

I have a 2018 TRD Off road and it is great, especially on the beach. I air down and i can run in rear wheel drive most of the time. It is an unbelievable truck.

Tire pressure is the key to driving on any sandy beach. The lower the pressure the better it floats on top of the sand, tire deflators are great when paired with a good tire pressure gauge. Leave it in 4 hi and when driving in the heat of the summer watch your engine and transmission temps. First aid kit and a fire extinguisher is a must. Enjoy the beach and watch for holes that people and kids dig in the sand especially at night and in low light situations. I like to have a jump pack with me as well. Have fun

Teasers work, I was skeptical about them years ago and I watched a guy next to me in the surf hook up on every cast and it was on the teaser. I did not have a teaser in my rig so i took the hook off a charlie graves that had a like a white feather on it and i was in fish. Chuckie G to the rescue.
