  1. For sale is a Tsunami Evict. Used less than 5 times. Spooled with berkley x9 20lb braid. 115 shipped. Thanks.
  2. I just moved to the DC area last year and have some questions about Fletchers Cove. The few times I’ve seen that part of the Potomac the current t absolutely rips. What type of rig do you use for the shad? Just 1/8oz shad darts or do you need to add some weight? Second how is parking? Like on a weekend what time would you need to get there to be guaranteed a parking spot. Third do they sell any tackle at Fletchers? I think I have like 3 shad darts and there are no shops within a 35 min drive that would have them. Or if someone can recommend a shop in the DC area that has them? oh yeah the licensing seems funny. Do I need a dc license, va license or md license? thanks!
  3. Thanks. It was an enjoyable outing. Took me about 30 mins walking the bank casting to find a productive spot but once you found them they seemed to hit every cast. Gold shad darts seemed to be the hot color. Caught one rat striper too. It was weird to be in DC but feel like you were in the middle of nowhere. Fletchers cove is a beautiful place! Too bad there is so much trash every where in some spots, Like someone had a party and just left everything there. It was appalling that people could have that much disrespect for the outdoors.
  4. Yeah I had a few tails bitten off a few weeks ago. I haven’t dusted the kayak off yet since the surf has been pretty productive. I’m think this warm weather should help bring them in. I get to go fishing on Tuesday-Sun so hopefully they show up then lol.
  5. Here’s what I tied up based on what colors you say work best. I bought the shad darts awhile back. A few 3/8 gold spoons and I may have some 1/4 spoons somewhere. I was just worried about casting distance. plan on using a 7ft medium rod but I’ll have my 8ft surf rod in the truck in case. thanks everyone for tips.
  6. Yeah definitely not going to wade. I’m finally getting out there tomorrow. I had some 1/4 ball jigs laying around so I tried to is Up a few flashy jigs.
  7. Thanks. Maybe I’ll convince the wife to come along.
  8. Anyone think we’re gonna get any gator blues come inshore this year? Hopefully this warm weather gets them going.
  9. I’ve found small spinners like the anglers perch pounder outfishes any sort of bait. There’s spots in the Severn where I can literally get a perch every cast.
  10. Respectfully offer 80 shipped.
  11. I used some of the 30lb inshore last week fishing off some jettys. Dragged it over rocks more than a few times and there weren’t any nicks in it at all. I don’t think I’ll ever pay for regular fluorocarbon ever again. 30lb is like 24 bucks for a 100yds so I’m sold. Should be enough to last me the season lol
  12. Thanks that’s what I was thinking. I have a 9’6” airwave elite I use if I need a stouter rod and It would be nice to be able to go back and forth.
  13. Sorry to bring back a thread from the dead but I have a VR question. Where I’m at in DE we don’t have any shops that carry Van Staal. I’ve been getting too much saltwater on my other reels for my liking and am looking to get a VR series reel. I may end up just taking a ride to TD. what size vr reel would pair best with a 8ft ODM DNA 3/8-2oz rod? Thanks
  14. I think these are meant for freshwater but a lot of guys around me use them as a buck tail trailer. They are also really cheap.
  15. Have you ever rented the rowboats? How could one person handle them? Thanks
  16. 10-3. Saw that was a bad idea the more I read about it. Not worth the risk. Thanks for tip!
  17. So over the winter I got into making my own jig heads and just super glued or uv epoxed them on. The eyes stay on the jigs that have indentations good enough but on my shad style jigs that’s just flat they seem to pop right off rather quickly. I also have only used super glue on the shad heads. Other than drawing on my own eyes does anyone have a good process to get the eyes to stay on the jig heads? Thanks
  18. Gotcha thanks for info.
  19. Thanks for the tips. I still haven’t made it out but hoping to get out there Monday afternoon. I stopped by anglers on my way home from Delaware and grabbed some shad darts in various sizes and some gold 3/8s spoons. Any shot at stripers from shore at fletchers right now? I have a kayak but don’t feel like messing with that current.
  20. Yeah dude poachers come in all colors. Some of these people would take the last fish in the ocean if they could. I don’t get it.
  21. The loss of license won’t do anything because if they are taking fish illegally they will have no problem fishing without a license. Clean out their gear, take their boat and whatever vehicle they used to haul it and maybe they will think twice.
  22. They need to start taking gear too.
  23. Yeah I caught a monster shad on a jetty the other day. Close to 25” I’d say. We have been finding a little larger school sized fish in the 20-25” range. The fishing is literally automatic right now in some spots. I’ve taken some walks deep in some feeder creeks to get away from the hoards of FB report chasers and have found bigger fish back there. And plus side since everyone is fishing the surf you have the creeks all to yourself. Did see a pod of bait moving around with dolphins behind just crushing it. I haven’t heard of anything bigger than school size fish being caught in Delaware.
  24. Man do I feel this. Wife always complains about the amount of fishing tackle that is in my backseat at all times basically lol.
