  1. 14” Jack smelt hour before high tide Watsonville area on Sunday on a sp sinking minnow. Hit on middle of 4th breaker was cool watching it dart to the lure and catch met another fisherman who mentioned he foul hooked the wing tip of a bat ray same day

  3. Registered to reply on this thread. two tips when you find the trough, run popper lure on the top along it and feign injured fish. A lot of the predatory fish like a lazy meal when you have a fish on look behind you really quickly and take note of where you are. Add this detail the your log. If you keep fishing the same beach you can work out after a few trips what are most productive spots. Use these as a way points, keep going back to them on each trip so you get more data.
