  2. Ok which one of you die hards upgraded your Canal Cruiser??? 32 degrees on a bike to go fishing. Hell yeah. Go get em
  3. Thanks. Don’t remember seeing them
  4. Kind of Chub?? Found a few washed up with silversides.
  5. Sorry no. Didn’t grab weight which reminds me to buy a digital scale and locate my boga too.
  6. Took these on the fly rod January 2nd. Biggest bows I’ve caught, had a nice day with 6.
  7. Some nice looking baits. I’ve been using bought molds. I’ll have to make my own soon, after my resin habit slows.
  8. These are my buddy Scotts Aka ShadyGrady on here. Find them in the shops on the vineyard. I’m still waiting for my freebie.
  9. Played around with my newest open pour mold. Think I like the open more than injection molds. It just cried herring @7.5” let see who else pours plastics. Show em
  10. It’s a work in progress. I’ll weight it with rubber bands with weights on bottom until I hopefully can get it to suspend/sink slowly level, they install them. I hope to hang something Off it that I’ll have to release, if so I’ll try to remember to take a pic.
  11. Nomad Madscad used as template lil thin at the tail will have to shore it up before wiring. Thoughts on this??
  12. I do not use one when using plastisol, I am in a well ventilated area, Not saying you should or shouldn’t. Just my personal choice. Now lead I use an organic vapor full face respirator.
  13. Not really hard. Microwave some plastisol to 350 or so. Add colorant and glitter made for plastisol of choice. A lot of fluorescent colors need to be added before cooking. Now you have hand pour molds and injection molds. If you want laminate baits (2 or more colors) they have dual or triple injector kits. If injecting laminates I recommend top injection molds. That’s the basics, it’s fun but I warn you very addicting.
  14. Yes I make these found mold in popular selling site. Appears to be a fish snax knock off. Didn’t know until after I got it
  15. I think I’m almost ready. Pour a few more jig heads to match the squid and tie up some with bucktail sand hackle.
  16. Definitely to much powder, I used a heat gun and didn’t heat evenly. I dipped 2-3 times to get a full coat. I’ll try your method next batch. Thanks Ed.
  17. Made a few Mojo Jigs in 4-16 oz. poured and baked plenty of smaller jigs 5& under, any issues on time with an oven loaded with 16oz jigs? I baked some starting at 0-350 degrees for 25-30 minutes.
  18. Poured some squid baits this winter to rig for Fluke baits. Never rigged with inline circle hooks, question is anyone have success with 5/0 inline circle hooks rigged on the manor? Any other critiques welcomed.
  19. Tried my hand at an indoor grow tent garden. Didn’t have enough time to maintain it as I would like. Life with kids.. but managed some cucumbers and more coming. Cherry tomatoes coming in small bunches. The herbs (basil, rosemary and parsley grew decent). Outside I have 375 Garlic plants a foot tall, yes 375. Found a bucket I forgot to give away that had sprouted so in it went. Good luck in your growing season!
  20. I have not melted plastic on an open gas flame but on an electric hot plate. I was a newb and didn’t control the heat and burnt it quickly. I am not saying it can’t be done on a gas range but if you watch the temp carefully with a thermometer too may be ok. I just find the microwave easier. If the plastic is not quite melted just add time by 30 second increments. Pouring in the house will smell some and make a mess in the kitchen in my opinion. Good luck happy melting
  21. Easier than one may think, slight learning curve on getting right temperature of different plastisols without burning it. I use an old microwave and works well. I inject mine with either a single or double injector. There are hand pour molds as well. Add your own color or there are color recipes online add some glitter (keeping the plastisol under 350 deg F To not curl the bigger glitter flakes) and your good. Some may dip the lures in cold water after bait I just drop them on a flat clean surface once they setup some in he mold.. user preference. Do find the the process to smoke some and smell so ventilation may be needed.
  22. Nice work on making your mold looks clean. You use sculpt clay for your model? All my molds are bought from eBay or do it molds and bass tackle. I am looking to try my hand at making my own RTV mold for a tinker mackerel.
  23. Took a break making plugs and now obsessed with Soft Plastics. Anyone else shooting Plastisol??
  24. Please close meant for the lure building forum, my apologies!
