  1. Went out to the beach this morning when it was low tide. saw much of the holes and structures around the sandy area. decided not to wait for the incoming tide. so ended up @ marin coast near paradise pier. lots of fisherman there were soaking bait with live and dead anchovies. saw a few anglers hook up some legal halibut (nothing gigantic). i had waited until the afternoon when the current were fast moving and switch to a heavier sinker(8oz) after rebaiting with a live shiner perch, waited for a few moment, the rod were bouncing up and down. grab the rod from the rod holder and tension from the other end were strong. reel in slowly and saw the fish and i was so excited and yell gaff please. my bubby help me with the assist. came home with this beauty all 27 inches.

  4. After a week of drought, went back out there this morning, There were a dozen guys were fishing already. after five minute later, the guy on my right hookup and the guy on my left, he hookup also. at this point, i have to decide which direction should i go, i went to the right side because i saw a nice looking trough there. i decided to switch lure, put on the sp minnow. on the second cast the little guy jump on the lure and took me for a ride, it took some time to get him in because he was hooked wayyyyy out there. after landing him, cast out again and this time the big boy grab the minnow on the way in. he jump several time out of the water, try to loosen the hook, but to no prevail. The morning session went quickly and came home for breakfast.
  5. Face mask are required. Went out early this morning, try to beat the early crowd for a limited parking space to the beach, managed to do so, as the day goes by i was only able to hook and land perchs. i saw a few striper were caught by some other anglers. as the tide slowly recede, the trough in front of me were noticeable, it created like a funnel shape in the wave. i casted right into it waited for a few minute later, The rod tip bend double over and i knew it wasn't a perch. look to see any seals around because there were a few roaming around earlier. The coast was clear. somehow the fish and i were playing tug of war with each other. after a 5 minute battle, manage to land and seal the deal. about half an hour later, hook and land another smaller striper.:)
  6. I need a brake from Cabin Fever, Equipped myself with PPE, along with a double filtration mask, i was ready to take on whatever is out there (fish wise). walk the beach, look for the trough. came to this spot, it looked very fishy. cast out a hair raiser, worked it in slowly and right about 5 feet where i was standing, the fish grab the lure & took off. it make a mad dash to the right and came back to the left. The drag on the reel was holding it's ground like it should be. after a few moment later, The fish beach itself. Move around some more and saw another nice trough, Hook up another striper and few more perchs, it was a fun day and that feeling that i almost forget due to shelter in place. Have Fun,Be Safe Everyone.

  13. Fall Classic Day Today. admire the beautiful coastal scenic route of the california shore line. Went to a place is isolated somewhere in the northern ca beach. setup shop and attempt to use bait(sandcrab) and to see what's out there. The first 3 hours were dead silent, no takers. and when the tide starts to change, it pick up some action here and there. it was a steady non stop hookups. Even hooked two schoolie stripers( both were released). ended the day with plenty of fun and joy.

  23. after a long hiatus, got to get out of the doldrums and fish. it was a sound decision because i ended up with 2 hookups and landed one. The fish was safe and release to fight another day.
  24. Started out the day with gorgeous blue sky, not so much wind (but, it pick up later on the day), was grubbing for perch briefly, until the birds show up. Switched to a micky jig and cast out into the trough, I did not like the distance were the jig landed. It was way short where I wanted. But I had no choice, because the setup I was using was barely making it out to the trough. But, you never know, miracles happen. After a few casts, the rod tip went down hard. And then I realize I was fighting the fish, after a few tuck, Fish taco for dinner tonight
  25. congrats, Mama knows best.
