  1. Going to give LBI a try in the next few weeks. Gotta find an unguarded beach first since im going to do a day trip and i'm kayaking baits out. Is the surf their kayakable? Or maybe Sandy hook since they do catch them off LI and that is closer to me? Not completely sure what my plan is.
  2. I went out last night and caught some dogs. I had to cut and then freeze for space. Hopefully, it'll still be effective. Will find out in a few weeks I guess! Thanks for the advice.
  3. Fresh is better but do you ever use frozen dogfish caught on previous trips? Im thinking about catching some and freezing for the upcoming weeks.
  4. When do you guys normally start attempting to shark fish? Im itching to start yacking some baits out! Thanks for any input.
  5. I was able to get out this past weekend. No luck on any sharks but I did get my first bullnose ray so that was pretty awesome. We had one runoff on a casted bait and caught the bullnose on a yacked bait. No other action other than that for me. Bullnose ray was quickly dehooked and released. It was great seeing it swim back out strong.
  6. Im thinking about going sometime during next week, won't be free till then. Will update if I do go tho.
  7. Thanks for all the responses. I think I'll try to keep a yaked bait and a casted one out to cover close and far. But when I get lazy ill leave the kayak at home XD.
  8. Out of curiosity, do you guys mostly kayak bait out or just surfcast bait as far as you can out? This season im thinking about attempting to yak out more baits in hopes of bigger sharks. Thanks for any input.
  9. Ahhhhhhhh i wanna get out and get the big rigs out!!!!! Maybe in the next week or so, have heard of a few reports of sandtigers. Hopefully, this will be a good season for us!
  10. Yeah, I'm gonna try to get out this weekend (probably just casted baits), hope the wind cooperates so we don't get major swells. Will report back, hopefully with good news.
  11. oh haha lol. As long as it ain't Jersey im ok. I was starting to question my methods and thinking that i wasn't catching cause i was doing something wrong (despite the fact that i have caught these awesome creatures before). XD
  12. ahhhh ok
  13. what part of nj are you fishing? not trying to spotburn. just a general idea cause i havent been able to get on any sharks this summer yet :\ Are they on casted baits? Thanks for any help.
  14. Awesome fish. I wish we had the same fishery as Florida up here.
  15. My normal fishing crew will not be around for the rest of the month. If anyone is fishing around my area (north/ Central Jersey) and doesnt mind me tagging along, I'll gladly meet up and shark fish.
