  1. Thanks for replying, The switches both were Perko switches, and I was thing replacing with a Blue sea switch, Have they fixed the issues? The boat is small CC so there isn't a lot to replace, I fish with my young son so safety is most important. The motor is a 04 four stroke, Is there a brand you recommend for the replacement components?
  2. Thanks for the reply, The ground is just wires, right ? or am I missing something? Battery to battery and the negative buss bars all back to the batteries.. I'll replace the Neg wires too, thank you
  3. The A/B switch has melted from being hot, twice. they both still worked but I would like to change what ever I need to before the season. It is a dual battery setup with a single outboard Yama 115. The wires do not show signs of over heating. Should I add battery isolator switch or charging relay? Any ideas where I should start? I appreciate any advice
  4. Flatwing, Thank you for all this info. The last diagram is what I think I need. I'll check this out in the morning
  5. I can start with either battery. Billybob, It was wired with each battery to either the A or B and all the load was on the common. The battery switch melted in a spot, second switch to do that in the 3 years I had the boat. I planned on keeping the batteries to the A and B and adding a wire to feed a busbar and the motor positive on the common of the switch. I am very open to suggestions on the proper way it should be done. I fish with my young son and the melting switch scares me. It is only a 19' CC
  6. I am rewiring the dual batteries so I have 1 house and 1 starter battery and following some online diagrams. My question is, The A/B/ALL battery switch says "do not switch while motor is on" Well how do you start the motor with the starter battery and then switch to the house battery so it chargers off the alternator? Will switching from A to B really hurt the outboard if running? I know I will feel stupid once someone answers
  7. I did mean free spool, sorry for the typo. Yes, I did order from Mystic
  8. Handi2, I did get the 5 drag + 5 metal + one. Each washer was just a little thicker than the ones O removed. I put the old washers back in and that reel spins more freely then the one I installed the new kit.
  9. Mike, Thanks for the suggestion. I did grease most things, I watched a youtube video, LOL I will clean the grease off and try oil instead
  10. I have 2 older 113HSP reels that I am working on. I ordered new HT100 drag kits for them but the new washers and discs are thicker than the old original set. The reels funtion but they don't feel spool like they did before I "fixed" them. I think I ordered the correct kits. Can I just remove a washer? does it matter which one? Thank you to anyone with a suggestion
