    Yes Sir--the belt is "Gen 2" --the latest and greatest version. It is a size "Large," which in all honesty is almost like a one size fits all because there's a pretty large range of adjustment (34" to 38").

    Hi PKBassmaster69, Thanks for the question regarding separating the bag from the belt--I might do that for you, but really want to try to sell the system together first. If you want to speed things up, maybe you would consider buying the bag/belt system and just selling the belt. As another option: I was talking to the owner of Z belts (Luke) and he said lots of people love the belt so much for "back support" that they order an "extra" belt to use with other plug bags--so maybe you can use an extra belt too.     Have a brand new Z belt and bag for sale. See pics. This is a super high quality 3 tube bag; 2-8” tubes & 1-6” tube; and two separate interior pockets for tins/jigs and soft plastics. The lumbar belt is super comfy and allows the bag to slide back behind you on a 2” strap/track while casting so it’s out of the way. Then when you need a plug, simply slide the bag from your back to the front for easy access to the bag.....super easy/sweet. You literally feel like you’re carrying nothing; but all of your plugs, fish gripper, and pliers are at your fingertips. Brand Shiny New —only taken out of box for pictures, asking $250.     Hello Folks, I just ordered a new Diawa BG MQ 10000 and now looking for a nice power knob to match up with it. I'm thinking a 45mm Gomexus would probably be about right--but that's only a best guess. Can anyone recommend a power knob that will "direct fit" onto this reel handle. Please also let me know if you think the 45mm is too small or large. I could not find any handle shaft length/type/dimensions that supports the knob, so not sure which knob to order. However, I did find a replacement part for the entire handle, which is: "J41-6501" The Diawa MQ 10000 handle looks the "same" as the original Saltist 5000 handle (just different color), because the knob is removable the same way with just a screw driver. So maybe I can just order a Gomexus power knob that would direct fit the Diawa Saltist 5000 and maybe it would fit the new BG MQ 10000--again I'm guessing here. Would appreciate any guidance from anyone more experienced. Many thanks, Rob

    Thanks for all the great opinions/experiences! Sounds like the Gosa May be a tough reel to beat. I was initially expecting the MQ to be a good solid competitor to the Gosa but now not so sure.

    Sounds like most folks like the Gosa so far--even with the slightly extra weight of 1.4oz----23.8oz (gosa) versus the 22.4oz (BG MQ). The Gosa has been around a lot longer and definitely has a following. The Diawa BG MQ has only been out for maybe a year, so to be fair wondering if anyone has first hand experience with this reel to give it a fair comparison/shake. -Rob

    Hello Folks, I recently purchased a "Black Hole Striped Bass Special Rod (10', 1-6 oz) for use in the Cape Cod Canal---as a do everything 1 rod. I've used the rod 2x so far and can say this has been a great all around rod for both throwing plugs and jigs---threw SPs (1.5 oz) and Jigs up to 4.3oz no problems at all. Now looking for a new reel to match up with this rod (currently using a Diawa BG 4500 black/gold). I've been a looong time Shimano guy, so looking closely at the Shimano Saragossa 8000, but to tell you the truth the Diawa BG has been a shocker as to performance, quality, and price. So now I'm torn between Diawa and Shimano---these are the two reels: 1.2021 Diawa BG MQ 8000, $250 (22 oz, 340 yards 40 braid, speed is about 43 inches per crank); or 2. 2021 Shimano Saragosa SW 8000SWA $279 and very close specifications to the Diawa. This Rod/Reel set up will be used 100% at the Cape Cod Canal tossing all the usual canal jigs like Al Gag paddle tails, Savage Sandeels,....etc., ranging 2--5oz mostly and plugs like Stick Shads, Pencil Poppers, Magic Swimmers....etc ranging 2--5oz mostly (same weight as jigs). The question: which is this the "best" reel for the job requirements?? I am very concerned about the Shimano Saragossa "WOBBLE" that I've read about--although I do not understand it--nor can even believe a company like Shimano would ever make anything that wobbles....I've heard/read lots of complaints though so maybe its true?? Thanks in advance for any advice, opinions...etc. Just trying to get it right the first time. -Rob

    Oh I moved this thread to the Mass forum--but the end of the story is that I bought a Black Hole Special Striped Bass rod 10' 1-6oz. This rod has been great the 2x that I've used it. Was throwing 1.5oz SP's and up to 4.2oz jigs no problem. Can handle more but haven't tried yet

    Thanks again to all for the super helpful information! Went to Red Top today and yes with my Diawa bg 4500 in hand to try out on various rods. I tried the Jigster 10-6” first thing and overall liked it but it was a little tip heavy (I like a balance just slightly tip up). The tried the Star VPR 10-6, 2-6 oz and loved the light weight feel but not crazy about the low rider type guides. Then came the Tsunami Elite 10’ 2-6 which for $200 was a super buy imo. I liked how the 10’ balanced with my reel—-slightly tip up. Then came the 10’ Black Hole 1-6 oz Striped Bass Special. This rod is super strong and shockingly lightweight, perfect balance, nice guide set and components—-Sold American!!! That was a strange path taken to a purchase. Now on to fishing. Rob

    Thanks for the great info so far! Has anyone here tried the 10'-6" Jigster?? Must be loads of folks on the canal circuit that use them...it is sort of pricey at $450 but in my view it's an investment--sort of anyway lol! I have heard great things about the TFO you mentioned in 2-6 as well. I also heard great things about the Century Slingshot as a superb beach rod but no so much as a designated canal rod. I have a Shimano Teraleho sp? 9'-6" 3/4-3 oz that's my designated beach rod and love this rod for the beaches! Gotta be others here to weigh in
