  1. Finally purchased a saltiga 20000 just wondering if I need to register the reel or anything for the warranty or is the warranty good out of the box? It didn’t come with any warranty papers in the box just double checking

  3. That ZB is unbelievably gorgeous oh my god. If you don’t mind me asking what does something like that run?
  4. I must say I have a few slammers and one being a “covid” slammer and it’s fine 3500 lure fishing schoolers no problem. Only reason my 5500 is Geary is because I got worked by a big Dusky shark on a 5500 basically ran me to about 50 yards left on the spool over an hour fight reel was hot to the touch but a 5500 slammer shouldn’t be in that position anyways to take a 7 foot shark still landed it but my reel did take a beating works fine but it’s a little rough and has play in the handle after that.
  5. I looked at it very briefly what doesn’t it share with the saltiga? And in shorter terms what you’re saying is it’s super similar to the saltiga amd you’ve fished the heck out of it with no problems? A big thing for me in pricing too is the fact that you get the 5 year free cleaning and warranty but apparently daiwa is bad with servicing? I’ve heard otherwise. I don’t really care if I can service it myself I’ll send it off but I wanna make sure they actually take care of me. Like I said I’m not gonna fish it crazy hard I’ll probably get a 18k and whenever Van staal decides to send me my vr151 that’s going to be my new workhorse
  6. And this whole thing about penn BS covid quality has got me wondering if the Torque II is in the same boat? I’d assume not since it made in the USA and the slammer is overseas but who knows... also isn’t the saltiga under a five year warranty and cleaning service? I heard they were decent and next day ship your reels or give you a new one if it fails.
  7. I I do truly want the saltiga but I’m not sure it’s the smart choice I want it to be but I’m not sure. I do have upwards of 50+ reels so keeping it at home won’t be a major issue and to be honest it probably won’t even be fished much but when I do fish it I don’t want it to be destroyed. I admire the quality and the engineering behind it. I take trips to florida to shark fish pretty frequently but outside of that most of my fishing is in Ocean city MD where we only get on sharks later in the year or offshore and occasional offshore trips for mahi.
  8. Primarily going for sharks on this reel I want smooth drag and power
  9. Say I was to fish bait in the surf with a saltiga in a rod holder not take any waves just occasional spray and maybe a little bit of sand here and there from the wind and or my sandy hands how vulnerable is the saltiga? I know most guys fish these on boats but will it be fine on the beach? I know everyone has their opinion on mag seal so let’s hear it!

  11. Good idea
  12. Does anyone have one just curious what your price is. Thanks in advance
  13. What’s your go to leader? I have used red label seaguar for years but have recently been using Vanish just on availability and I really like it but it’s a little hard to tie knots IMO
  14. I’m gonna go for a bailed. Never liked bail less had the saltx and it was junk and I’ve fished bailed for so long it’s second nature. Probably gold just to be that guy lol I like the haters
  15. Torque 2 is also more appealing to the eye IMO I really have always had my eye on the saltiga just for that prestigious factor and I’m in the position now to buy one but I don’t wanna baby my reel so the Torque is looking to be the winner. Have over 60 reels and I’m still trying to find that one that I’m going to be “the one” and change my fleet too I thought it was going to be the slammer the gosa was close but it’s too fragile for my liking thinking it could be the VR for the things I’m looking for in a reel to do but I’m impatient and want a pretty new toy right now back up times have moved from March to April to may to now July who knows when we will get them.
