  1. Crossing the bridge earlier in the week there was an unbelievable current for the navesink along with debree and mud from last saturdays storm. Just wasnt good for anything, let alone a kayak. Feel terrible for this guy and his family. RIP.
  2. Have tried a few times out back. Skunk city so far. Water is beginning to come alive with bait.
  3. Love fishing for them particularly for the strike. Fight on a scale of 1-10 is on average a 6 with a jazzed up 40 being a 9 and a slot being like a 4. Eating wise, not bad. Not the best but tasty. If bled out, than prepped right it makes for a solid dinner but probably keep only 2 a year.
  4. Terrible last 16 months. El Nino weather pattern. Wet and windier. Supposed to lift in the coming weeks finally which will hopefully calm things down. Will see.
  5. @gellfexNah, and for the record the catch n release situation throughout cities right now makes me sick. But in terms of dealing fentynal vs keeping illegal fish, I think it's a little different. I'm not condoning this by the way! Hell yes there needs to be legal recourse. Just guys yelling, take their stuff no questions asked, I think we gotta be careful before we go there. I'll admit, I need to definitely read up more on this topic. Because I'm unfamiliar with exact laws on book with the exception of measurements of fish and number per angler laws.
  6. I respect your stance. But terms need to be defined. Number of illegal fish. Number of offenses. Etc. We are a heavy handed state with laws. I'm open to it for habitual offenders and the threshold of fish being defined. Meaning 5 fish, xyz fine. 10 fish fine increased, 20 or more possible temporary forfeiture of vessel. It's too gray right now.
  7. Some of you claim to be conservative and or libertarian yet you are for repossession of personal property in one fell swoop. While I'll agree the fine can be a bit larger, going down the fascist hole of seizing property is not an avenue you want to go. 3rd offense perhaps. This is not excusing poaching. These guys are rat bast*rds n should be punished.
  8. I'm very sorry for your loss. May your dad rest in peace.
  9. Decided to take a few casts yesterday afternoon before days and days of rain way out back. Definitely still has that wintry feel out there. No bait observed. Water was already a bit murky from Saturdays storm.
  10. Yeh those Italians. Tell us more man. They wearing horns, eating gabagool, and saying yous guys?
  11. paddle tails, bone bomber, bone sp, small/medium metal lips, and always a 7 inch doc as well as a talking popper. last march, after cycling through most of the bag I discovered all they wanted was topwater. Cold water temps be darned. Made no difference.
  12. enjoyed the 45 minutes I spent there. Got a few poppa's lures, a few from next level tackle as well. Shook hands and chatted with John Skinner. All in all, not a bad stop. Amazed at the prices though. Fishing is truly an expensive sport even if you look for bargains, it still is. ODM rod prices blew my mind.
  13. Alright, controversial stance apparently in this thread....First, I am a huge fan of the following groups, all on my ipod....beach boys, the temptations, lynyrd skynyrd, oasis, smashing pumpkins, foo fighters, Harold Melvin and the Blue notes. I mention this because I love music from all different decades and genres. Bands, singer song writers, vocal groups, you name it. That being said, Usher was fantastic. No lip synching, and for all of you old heads who aren't aware, those songs he played were number 1s during the early 2000s. I think in a 5 year period he churned out at least 6 or 7 number ones. It was a Las Vegas performance filled with dancers, guests, and friggen roller skates. It was over the top, and it should have been just like the superbowl in general. Rihanna last year was trash.
  14. Absolutely it's terrible. I'll say this though. My mom was a great mom...still around and we are close. My mom never said, "I love you." I know she does. I've said it her before, and she doesn't say it back. She was raised by a really tough, cold Italian, in my grandfather. It's almost like a foreign phrase for her to say. I think about it from time to time. Does it bother me, yes a little bit. Ya don't know what will stick and not stick in terms of things that people carry with them. I make it a point to say it multiple times a day to my boys.
  15. Few things...first, all things must have context. I know Goldy. He's not a violent guy and he adores his son. Everybody is trying to figure things out as a parent. I wouldn't of did it, but to make it an indictment on him in totality is kind of unfair. I'm a father of 2. my oldest has a sweet disposition but at times he can get disrespectful. I would never crack him, as in, hitting where it's forceful.. however, a tap to get his attention as if to say, hey that's not acceptable behavior is much different than a spanking, a belt or a hard hit. I think the line of being a terrible dad is pretty clear. If you aren't there for your kids, they fear you, and they treat people with general disrespect, especially their mothers due to your disrespect, than you are clearly doing things wrong and allowing your own b.s to become there b.s And for the older school guys who say, "my old man would of (insert act of violence)..." it was unacceptable than, and still is. It didn't make you tougher despite what you might think.
  16. China wants to depopulate and weaken the world. It's that simple. They have ulterior motives that we are too afraid to call it out in this country out of fears of being labeled "xenophobic." Meanwhile, in our ***** nation, California actually rolled out the red carpet for Xi. See how this is a recipe for disaster? A more ambitious country, willing to win by any means necessary vs. a country who doesn't hold anybody accountable, who is willing to ignore crimes against humanity to protect their bottom line. It shouldn't shock you to see this article whatsoever.
  17. As usual for the last 700 days for most of NJ. Too much warm are influence. feels like the warm falls set forth a chain reaction. I remember in 2012 right after sandy, the weather stayed extremely cold the remainder of the fall with highs in the low 40s and lows in the 20s through November and December. it happened to be a pretty good winter that year with many snow storms.
  18. @bbfish What was your bro's experience like? Was there fear, excitement? I'm not a surfer so I'm curious. Had to be incredible.
  19. Haha. Outlets, I get these washable 2 for 85 when on sale. Cold wash, Lil detergent, the guts come right off.
  20. The banker hrs stuff is spot on indeed! Look closely, you will see washable brooks brothers outlet shirts underneath the gear. (Notice I said outlet. I'm not paying 120 for a shirt at the big boy store). With 2 kids under 3, I get out when I can and throw the gear right over it.
  21. Last fall run was an all time year for me. This one was definitely solid but definitely came short of last year. Had some memorable boat and surf outings. The difference between this year and last year was, last year it felt like every run out whether from the sand or on a boat the fish would be found instantly. It was stupid good fishing. This year, had to work a little harder and there would be 2 to 3 day stretches where the fish would sort of disappear. And that's ok. That makes the good days more rewarding. Also, pretty underwhelmed by the bay this season. At least for me. Prefer bay fishen to out front but ill take em where I can get em. To score it like dave portnoy pizza review, last year 9.7..this year 7.2.
