  1. I caught 6 Blue angels while fishing in great bay. Pretty cool and that was not dead at all.
  2. I did show up - to work. FYI - I've heard this happens to some people when they get on in age:
  3. TS: Sorry about the typo. As a guest and humble head creator of this website, you really need to take a break from the cards and give a humble head speech - of sorts. It should be easy for you, just verbalize what you would write. It may be good business as well, as long as, you reasonably pull it off with some humilty and sincerity. May I suggest, fishing is a common thread (play up the pun maybe) between all theme. You can work the whole surf verses boat, salt verses fresh, geographical, sport teams, political and last lastly, economic differences between all people that have the commonality of fishing. You can parlay this into tough economic times for many and the generally, cost effective recreation and daily grind escape that resides within fishing. Close by announcing a discount at your online tackle store for all present for the next (30) days. As your temporarily appointed political and business advisor, you need to do this and I am sorry that I'm not going to be there to further provoke you into it. Now, as an additional business goodwill incentive, if you manage to voluntarily stand up a second time and offer at least Two (2) jokes, I guarantee that I will once again make some healthy donations to an "sol charity". Eric, Jim, Scott and all others, have fun codding and remember (2) words when the time is right "speech, speech!" As always, glad to help Lumprey
  4. If wanting to stay in Islamorada, I don't think you can go wrong with the wife at the Chesapeake Beach resort. I've stayed their at least (4) times. Quiet, Atlantic Waterfront, (2) Pools and (1) Hot tub, Grilles, Onsite charters (but also close to Bud N Mary's), Tennis, Kayaks No restaurant but a fraction of the $ compared to Cheeca Lodge
  5. I'm afraid this Friday is not going to work for me and I need to bow out. You guys have fun and make sure Tim Sargent provides a little Patriot like sol speach this time.
  6. My money is on November 13th at SKS' place
  7. If you haven't boated back there before Remember - Brown brown, run aground.... White white, you just might and yes, a GPS would wise if you're going to travel far Have fun.
  8. Saw them in the fresh water days after the last flood - 2 weeks ago. Saw 2 below the McCallen about week ago. Side Bar & No joke - there were (2) in my front yard around Mother's Day 2006 don't know but, maybe they were diving for worms.
  9. DSL service is brand new .... you might even see a Moose Don't know any Hispanics and only One Black guy If you don't want to wear a helmet there's nothing they can do It's like Old Hampshire but New
  10. MB: I agree whole heartedly with Ability and MichaelT's practical points on NH. - Not the best of any one thing but a great mix. Foothills of the White Mountains within 1 hour of the seacoast region and I have both Portland and Boston in 60 minutes for what they may offer. When I was in Rye, NH; I won't forget walking on the beach in the morning then downhill skiing for 3-4 hours in the White Mountains and back for the 2nd half of an afternoon football game. - Property tax does vary but they tend to float around .02% - Dividend tax can be a hit unless you can get around it by "moving it" to income - you should check on this. Summers can see a few days over 90 and there is humidity but, it is nothing like your area. Go to the beach and it's like standing in front of the open fridge. In the towns you've mentioned (except Portsmouth), be sure to thoroughly investigate property, neighborhood and access issues impacted by the increasing frequency of flooding. There's a certain river in Newmarket that has had its (3) of the top (5) - and/or - (5) of the top (8) highest recorded levels in the last Five (5) years. That's an obvious trend. If your willing to be 30-40 minutes from the Atlantic as you wrote, that opens up a lot of other towns to the interior but again, investigate the impacts of flooding. Traffic here is non-existance compared to points south (including MA) or LI, NJ, etc... I drove through NJ along 95 and 287 recently and I do not know how people live that way. I hope some of this and the others may help and as Charleston wrote, I don't think I would retire here for the full 12 months of the year but, I hear your wife on the dislike of summer heat.
  11. Mr. Little - Sir: Are you trying to tell us something? Is that what happened and is that why he went under the radar here -shaved his legs, plucked his eyebrows then Johnny became Janey ? Say it ain't so.
  12. spun from the Newbie thread. If I'm not JohnW or the others that claim to be JohnW are not, who is? If he's hiding, he should be able to find because, well, you know, he's Not So........
