  1. Yours “ 04019 “ too , i thought it was each reels id number . But a japanese friend told me its the product number not each reels number
  2. So 2 reels can have the same number? its the first time i have noticed this number , my other shimano made in malaysia reels dont have it , my saragosa , spheros , stradic fk
  3. i noticed you bought a stradic 3000 hgfl . I bought one too from Digitaka japan , there is a number “ 04019 “ printed on the reel foot , Do yours have this number too , and whats does this number represents .
  4. Thank for your reply . It happened when pulling and unscrewing the top part from the butt part , I guess while away , the angle was not parallel to the butt joint . But maybe a manufacturer defect too
  5. top goes into the bottom , its the male part of the ferrule .
  6. the location is at the butt end of the rod , rod got a butt joint , I hope the top part of the rod can absorb most of load and leave the butt intact , but guess fishing it is the only way to know if it will break
  7. Do you think the blank will break under pressure
  8. Hello , My name Chris from Mauritius island , I recently purchased an assasin popping rod , rated at pe 8 - pe12 , will be pairing it with a shimano saragosa SW 20000 , and 80 lb tufline xp braid . The butt joint was quite stiff , while practicing how to join and unjoin the rod , while twisting and pulling it apart , i accidentally chipped it very superficially Do you think this might cause breakage at the butt joint while fighting a tuna or big gt, if the drag is set correctly. I attached some pictures of the chip to the post , i am new to heavy saltwater fishing and this is my first heavy setup .
  9. Thats a quite cheap 30lb boat rod bought from China for around 70 US$ , I had no problem bending the guide back straight , just applied abit of pressure with my fingers .Maybe they are not genuine fuji LDB guides .Just thought that maybe the bent guides could have been normal , so just google searched on incline forward guide and came accross fuji LDB guides .
  10. Yes , I think the best course of action is to just fish the rod as it is .The epoxy would crack with regular use anyway .I just hope seawater will not get to the guide foot and corrode it .
  11. thanks for the reply . Yes , those yellowfins did put a very nice bend in the rod ,I think that if the blank was damaged , it would have snapped . When I bent the guides , I cracked the epoxy at the guide foot , How can I fix this ?
  12. tested the rod fishing for schoolie yellowfin tuna of around 8 to 10 pounds . had only 2 hookup and landed both . Need to test it against larger fish now . Only 3 guide on the rod were the fuji ldb type , they are the top 3 guides , the others are straight normal guides so I though the rod might have a guide defect
  13. thank you for your replies guys . Its an offshore rod and I usually fish from shore so I lent it to friend who fishes from a kayak to test it against some strong fish .
  14. Hello , this is my first post on stripersonline . I am a shore fisherman from the small island of Mauritius . I got a small problem with a newly purchased rod and would like some advise from the experienced rod builders here on how to fix it. I recently had a friend bring a rod for me from China . The top 3 guides were fuji LDB bent eyed guides . The guides were bent toward the tip , I never saw any bent guides on a newly purchased rod before so I thought it was a manufacturing or transportation defect , I used my fingers and straightened them to 90 degree from the blank to align them with the other guides . I noticed a slight cracking sound as I was bending them straight , Noticed the epoxy layer is broken near the guide foot . what is the best way to fix this ?
