  1. One time my family convinced me to go to the hospital. That was a waste of time. The basically told me there was nothing they could do, besides a CAT scan and sedate me and send me home. They told me,"Headaches are not a medical condition". Man!! If you have ever suffered from them at Migraine strength, you would surely think it's a medical condition. You sometimes think you're checking out. No?

  2. No, I only tried the Imitrex inhaler. My Neurologist said the pills didn't work fast enough to eliminate the headache at the onset of it. The inhaler would give me the best benefits she said.

I haven't had them in almost 3 years now. I'm almost 37 now. I get a little one here or there, but Advil can knock them out pretty quick. The cluster headaches I had 3+ years ago were terrible. Like a migraine but sitting still or lying down made them intensify. I would lift weights, play volleyball, or even go for a jog to get them to a dull roar. Sometimes nothing worked. The 5 days of prednisone was the only thing that took them away, followed up by the 10mg of topomax each night before bed. I do remember tingling in my right arm every once in a while, but nothing that wouldn't go away in a couple mins time. Sort of like it "falling asleep". I really hope they never return. That was a very tough time for me. Day in and out I'd get them. I sit at a computer all day, so that made it even worse. I had all kinds of MRI's MRA's blood tests, ear/nose/throat, lymes disease tests, everything I and the Dr's could think off. They classified it for me as cluster headaches. Happens to men, usually in the 3rd decade of life, headache starts on one side of head, usually behind one eye, the eye may droop, and the sinuses may fill up during the attack. Sitting still makes it worse and many times they come on around the same time of day or night. They sometimes wake you out of your sleep. It's a 5% chance in white males. That's the abbreviated version that I can remember.

  3. About 3.5years ago, I was on 10mg a day. I had been suffering from what multiple neurologists called cluster headaches. After 3 months of agony, I was put on prednisone for 5 days and then onto Topomax. It worked for me.

I was on Topomax almost a year. I stopped it for an ACL surgery, and never went back on it. The only side effect I experienced was soda tasting like metal, so I stopped drinking soda. I didn't loose weight or feel sluggish or stupid. I was pleased with the drugs ability to keep those headaches away. They were very painful for me.

I feel like that's been on the pump house wall for close to 7-8 years now. I remember coming down to fish one night and feeling sad seeing that on the wall. I think there was the same thing written up in MB or SB also. It's been there a number of years though.

  5. I have a 1999 22.5 Hydra Sports Vector CC with an 2006 200 HO E-TEC.

I paid 15k for the hull, and 14k for the motor back in Dec 2005. Trailer was $2400 with 4 wheel disc, 4700lb roller made by Load Right. I bought the engine and trailer brand new at the time. The hull was in perfect condition and I had been on a sister hull a number of times with a friend, so I knew it was the exact ride I wanted and the price was right for me. Gas miledge obviously varies with conditions. I'm in the Ocean 99.9% of the time, so I wanted that Deep V 22 degrees + the Vector Kevlar hull. The ride is awesome for a 22' boat when the seas kick up. We cruise 29mph easily into the seas. Where I go, it's like a guaranteed 3ft South Swell with a snotty ride home every afternoon. At least it seems that way. I 100% recommend the Vector Series hulls. Very nice ride for a small boat in the ocean. I figure to average around 2.5 mpg for me in the Ocean. I base that on 50 mile round trip/2.5 = 20 gallons at the gas station on the way home to top off my tank. When it's a flat day on the ocean, the gas consumption goes down. I may even have gotten close to 3mpg a few times out. I tend to want to go fast from fishing spot to the next spot, so I know I'm not getting the best mpg, but it's way better than my old 1981 Evinrude.

Given my boat is now 10 years old and my engine and trailer 3, I guess it's close to 22k in value. So I think around 18-20k for you. Don't forget to factor in if it has newer electronics, canvas enclosure, new batteries, and if it's obviously been cared for and maintained. I'm sure the engine has a warranty also. I have 4 more years to go on mine. Best of luck to you.

  6. I really like my E-TEC. I've had it now for 3 seasons, and still have 4 more years of full warranty on it. It's awesome on gas, uses very little oil a season, maybe 3 gallons for 60hrs on the XD100 oil setup. It's so responsive, and at slow speeds you barely even hear it. Out of the water flushing it on the muffs is funny to me because it's so quiet. I was used to the old 2 strokes. This motor is smooth, no clunking in and out of neutral. If fact, it's almost impossible to tell when you're shifting into forward and reverse unless you give it some throttle. No pumping the ball, just turn the key and go. No smoke, no smell, no oil in the water. I have a heavy deep v hull on my Hydra Sports Vector CC and this engine is a perfect match for it. I wish you the best. Everything BRP advertised it as has been right on with my experience.

  7. Southco, Flush Latch Locking Black latch. Says it fits up to a 7/8" door thickness. Part # 29203. Buttt...I'm missing the key cwm13.gif

I think they are generic and easy to replace. so here's a good deal. Instead of $29 new, Yours for $15 shipped.

Fits all 2" holes. Fits panel thickness up to 7/8 inch. Corrosion resistant, high impact plastic with stainless mechanism and catch. All hardware is included.

    525

  8. Since you mentioned the 250HP model, I see that for 2009 BRP is releasing a new 250-horsepower High Output (H.O.) version.

I have the 2006 H.O. version of the 200HP E-TEC on my Hydra Sports Vector CC, and it's great! The difference in the H.O. model is it's factory tuned for ultimate output and horse power. I remember reading the 200HO was actually putting out 227HP at the prop. One thing is for sure, it grabs hold and really puts you up on plane in a few seconds. I've had it 3 seasons, and it's been great. Everything they advertise it as has been spot on for me.

    Good Luck to you.

  9. I have a 2001 Silverado. My Gas Guage jumps all over the place. My buddy at work has a 2004 Avalanche, his does also.

Dealer told me it's the sending unit in the gas tank, and they have seen the fuel pump die after the guage starts doing the dance. I've had this problem for about 6 months. I plan to have it all replaced, but the dealer wanted close to $900 to do it. I'm shopping around.

I wanted to believe it's the sending unit, since that is the same behavior you'de get from a boat. Once you change that sending unit, which is a simple fix, the guage works correctly again.

Here is the strange thing. It's much worse when I fill up, and I can make the guage in the Silverado go back to normal if while I'm rolling in "D", I shift into "N". That made me think it's a short somewhere. Not sure what to do just yet.

  10. I ate there twice. I liked it. They have about 10 burgers on the menu. Each one is different. I ordered the Bobby Blue Burger. It had bacon, lettuce, tomato and crumbled blue cheese on it. I didn't even add ketchup to it, but I usually add that on my burgers, or a steak sauce.

They have an interesting zesty sauce they give with an order of fries to dip into. I liked that as well.

I think the big draw there is it's supposed to be a gourmet burger. It's not a giant portion, but it filled me up. They offer crunchified versions of each burger which is adding potato chips onto the burger. It's a nice touch I thought. I used to do that at home once in a while.

I didn't try their shakes, but they are supposed to be good. It's not the best burger I ever had, but it's not a let down either. I'd say better then 5 guys because of the flair that goes into each patty.

I still like the Barnacle Bill's bacon Swiss over the open flame. Big burger, great hard roll with it. Reminds me a bit of the old ground round restaurant outside the Monmouth mall in the 80's.

  11. I don't know if it's helpful, but one thing I came across when drilling through a tile floor to anchor an island down was to drill through the grount lines. I used a masonary bit, and it was easy. I've also drilled through tile with a carbide bit for installing tp holders, that is like the others have mentioned above.

  12. Here's the update after visiting 2 dealers today.

I went to the Chevy dealer and looked at a Chevy 2009 5.3 V8, 4x4, 4 door, Z71, auto trans, gas, with a trailer pckg.

The sales guy and the Manager couldn't give me a bottom number on a truck that I could take home and think about over the weekend. I got the Buy Now or we can't give you the numbers. I ended up walking out. I guess it was a little informational. I found out my trade value, the current rebates, and I got to see the truck style I'd like to buy. The numbers game was a pain. They kept coming back with different rebate offers and in the end the one online is the best. The Salesman tried to offer me initially $400 off the sticker. I told him to take a hike. Manager comes back with 2k off the sticker, but the rebate shrunck by $500. The pressure was on by them to get me to make a deal, but I told them I wanted to think it over. That just upset them further. I ended up leaving without a final number because they basically didn't want to talk to me once I said I wanted to think about it. Chevy would be my best deal since I have the 3k GM loyalty rebate and GM Card earnings towards a new car, but I really didn't like the way the dealership treated me, and I wasn't alone. @ other people walked out before me after a numbers battle. The discounts just seem to be slim right now. I expected better. Truck sticker was 39k. They offered it to me for 33.5k before my trade or GM earnings were applied.

Stopped at Ford, Looked at a 2009 F150 XLT 5.4 V8, 4x4, 4door, auto trans, gas. Truck was 38k. Lowered it to 35k, then subtracted a 3k rebate for a price of 32k before my trade in. I liked that Ford didn't pressure me at all, and they even said to me, "If you want a Chevy again, We own one of those dealerships as well, so no pressure."

Need to think it over. At this point I'm not sure. I figured I'd find a truck for around 33k, and get it down to 19-20k with my trade and rebates. Didn't seem to find that deal today.

I dropped down from the Chevy 2500 and the F250 to the 1500 and the F150 because both dealers said it would be overkill for my towing needs and everyday driving around town. The interesting fact is the 2500 2009 chevy is only 1k more in price in the end. Still weighing out my options at this point.

  13. Thanks fishn808.

I'm not in a rush, just wanted to see if I could get a killer deal with the economy being so crappy and GM having big $$ problems. The 09 Chevy 2500HD 4door 4x4 looks to be costing me around 24K with my trade and discounts on the original 40k Sticker price, so that's not too bad. I'll see tomorrow when I roll into the dealer. I was hoping to pay more like 19k, but that may have been a pipe dream.

The Ford seems to be much more because they don't have the same size discounts as Chevy right now. I'll check it out in person tomorrow.

Maybe they will have a few used or left overs, we shall see. Not in a rush and starting to lean more towards skipping the whole idea. Just fix my truck and hold onto it a few more years like you're saying.

  14. I've been driving a 2001 Silverado 1500, GAS, extended cab, 4x4, 4.10 rear for the past 8yrs and a few months, I bought it new in 2000. The truck has 94k on it, and I need to make a few repairs. front brakes, fuel filter, new plugs, wires, trans flush, and probably a new fuel sending unit, maybe even a fuel pump while I'm in the tank for the sending unit. My gas guage jumps all over the place everytime I fill it up. At least a day or two. The dealer says they have seen it, and it usually leads to a failing fuel pump. So I figure I'm at least in the hole $1500 for all this, maybe more. I have over $2600 towards a new GM so I figured maybe now is the time to shop. My truck seems to be worth 6k-8k on the blue book site.

I need a V8 full sized truck that can tow a good 5700lbs. Boat,Gas,Motor=(4500lb boat) + trailer=(1200lb). I was going to run this current truck another 3 years or even longer if it kept going, but then this idea popped into my head. Truck still looks new, runs good, plenty of get up and go. The 5.3 V8 has a lot of power. The one thing I'll miss the most right now is my REVO tires I have on it. They have incredible traction on wet surfaces. No slipping in the rain and they are 8 months old.

I'm not against a used truck, but I want one with low miles, like 24k or under. I'm going to both Ford and Chevy dealers this Saturday to see what they have. I'm not interested in the Toyota or Nissan. I had one, friends have them, I just don't like them.

Never considered a diesel. I heard a few sizes from Ford were less desireable than the 7.? powerstroke diesel. Even with a power chip my friend in his F250 7.? powerstroke only gets 15 mpg. I do that in my Chevy now.

High gas prices stink, but what can I do. I need a full sized truck as long as I tow a boat. I guess I'll look tomorrow, drive a few and see what I like.

It kind of blows my mind that a pickup Sticker cost is 40k now. I remember buying a new 91 Blazer for 15k, and my current 2001 truck for 25k. I should probably have my head examined for even thinking about a new 40k truck.

  15. I am thinking about getting a new truck. I figure the deals should be pretty good right now, but after doing a little internet shopping with dealers I'm not finding as good a deal as I figured I would. Maybe I should have done this back in Nov/Dec.

Looking at the Chevy Silverado 2500 4door 4x4, and the Ford F250 XLT 4door 4x4.

Ford so far offered 09 xlt with an msrp of 43,865 for the internet price plus rebate .now 39,728. Just seems like a standard deal to me. I figured they want to move the inventory, guess not.

GM has a 1,500 rebate and a 3k brand loyalty rebate going on. Gm offered almost 2k off sticker also.

    Anyone else shopping?

  16. View PostFunny condom story for you - My mother works for the city and got a huge box of NYC condoms, so she gave them to all my younger cousins(15-22). Anyway about a week later we are all eating dinner at my aunts house and my baby cousin(6) comes down the stairs and says
