  1. The one on the left got the whole work over by Cal. In addition it got a few new body parts. Definitely a great reel. Granted you can buy an international ii and up for much less. But I couldn't pass getting this one made just for me.
  2. Or some guys can't see them sitting there and spend way to much on the origional to make it work like today's models....... Lol. One on the left was born as an international while the one on the right is an international ii.
  3. This has been my offshore / rig reel since I bought it new (2010 I believe). It's Been seriously abused on some big fish. I've replaced the seals / knob/ and service once a year. You should have no problem.
  4. Slammer iii 4500 all day long for me. Buddy has a clash. I just like the slammer iii better. Built tough and sealed. I have mine on a Ron Arra 9ft and that combo is just light. Cast better than most 10 ft combos. IMO the slammer is the best bang for the buck on the market today. I've swam to the sandbar several times with it now and not an issue. Couple buddies have them too and have been fished hard all summer
  5. I did want to add that the two bags of bushings are different. One has a slight lip while the other does not. The lipped bushing would go on the bottom. And the non lipped inside in the top where it gets pushed down and the factory screw goes over top.
  6. Figured I'd start a new thread in these knobs as they have been discussed in several different threads under other topics. Apologies for just copy paste of my other response but I don't like typing...... Lol Link to purchase on Amazon: http://amzn.to/2xMNRXk Added by scooby Well today I recieved my black knobs. Was really hoping the gold ones would make it today. But I have to say I'm extremely impressed. Granted time will tell but as stated my original Penn knobs stood up pretty well bushing wise over some pretty hard fishing. Gomexus has stated that the bushing material they used is supposed to be the best you can use for this application. Plus they send a second set of replacement bushings. You can read my previous statements on why I was really looking forward to these knobs. With that said, the installation was as expected...... Very easy. Took a whole 2 minutes. I got some of the first ones sent out and as such the packaging is still that of the shaft models. I could care less about that. No instructions were included as of this posting but like I said, these are straight forward install. Only thing is the bushing inside needs pushed in to contact the lower bushing before you drop the screw in or it won't allow you to screw the screw in. I just took a pencil and pushed the top bushing down till it contacted the lower bushing. Then dropped the stock screw in and tightened. Nice and snug with no dragging any where (I had thought it might drag on the handle but thier engineering is spot on). Spun it a few times and it spins as freely as the origional Penn knob. Its such a simple design, and after using the stock Penn knobs on so many different reels they have them on, I have no doubt it will hold up. I prefer the ball knobs as everytime I reach for that knob I always grab it the same. And since it's round I always have a full purchase on it so I don't personally have issues with wet or slime covered hands. The football style works okay for conventional as I'm not casting and grabbing for the handle all the time. But I do still prefer the ball on most reels under size 30. With that said I just want to state that I am not affiliated with gomexus. I had just been searching for a direct fit round knob for my torque reels and I am happy we finally have a possible solution that I don't have to destroy the most important part of my handle to install. Also I don't have to deal with bearing failures which I had in the past. I just wanted simple and durable. Granted if I had the cash I may have just sold all my origional torque reels and bought the new torque 2 reels. Looks like they hit all the areas in the new models that many of us wanted to see. But for now I'm feeling pretty good about this new set up.

  8. They should hold up much better than the bearings. The stock Penn knobs have the same bushings in them. Few of mine I have had since they were released. I've replaced one knob for the bushing wear.
  9. Gomexus now makes a direct replacement! Same bushing style as the stock knobs. (which I really like). I rusted out every posieden knob bearing I own. FINALLY.... https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0751D3SWJ
  10. We put them to the test. Little shot of a friend of mine on his first trip out with us. We run light line so good and reliable drag is a must. Durability a must!
  11. Do you know how many were produced in total? I have date codes across the board with higher numbers of production. Curious how many total were actually made.
  12. Apologies for such a simple question but figured it best to ask here. Since the first to the last of the origional, how many torque spinning reels were produced? Across all colors and sizes. I had heard low numbers at one time and it came up in a discussion recently.
  13. Thanks for the info! That is good to know. No, I don't recall who it was. I had sent in an email and got a return call a few days later.
