  1. That cooler is a 30 Year old Igloo. It held many, many fish. I do have an Igloo 165 its a big beast and fits in the Rack. But I am now full upgraded to a Driftsun 110 Quart cooler. (Great Reviews and much cheaper than a Yeti) Officially no longer a "Piker" LOL
  2. I got a special deal, I drove to his NJ head quarters, Gavin is a great guy and one hell of a surf fisherman. The cost was around $600 for everything. I have to say it’s built well and can endure the rigors of the surf, this will last me a lifetime. I did a lot of research and this is by far the best. *
  3. New Rack first time using one, nice piece of equipment to have.
  4. I drive by it many times heading to mecca, I want to try it this 4th, is it a yay or nay? Seems like it gets crowded, and the locals don't like the parade of trucks either. I have been constantly going to Shinny, set up the family BBQ/Camp then head to the rocks and fish. Just wanted to try something different. Thoughts?
  5. I have a pair as well, I really like them and know What you mean about the dampness but I think it's just sweat. When I take the waders off they are dry on the inside.
  6. I have the Mojo it's a great rod!! But I just go the ODM Frontier x That's awesome as well, at the "point" most use a Lami 10' rod paired with a VS.
  7. I caught a gator Blue in Montauk this summer, the SOB bit my pliers and wouldn't let go. I had to shake him off for awhile before he finally let go. He was a nasty little bastard.
  8. I went full tilt, VS250X reel paired with an ODM Frontier X 10'-6" rod, just came yesterday, Spooling it with PP Super Slick, and I am ready to go for MR. Bass
  9. Black Dog. Thanks, as far as a bathing suit goes I did not know what else to wear underneath, so I figured a bathing suit, it was a little uncomfortable to say the least. I just want to be warm and comfortable when I fish in the fall run out east, I have the waders as well. Just trying what the others do who fish in a wet suit. Thanks
  10. So I got a wet suit. Questions I have: Shoes - I would guess Korkers but what about socks? I have seen water proof socks, what is the standard wear? In the colder months would you wear a base layer, or would that retain water? I wore it on Friday and my bathing suit stayed wet all the while. Just want be be warm and comfortable while I fish, basically I want to know the basics. I have the L.L. Bean Emerger Waders which are great, however when I was in Montauk this past summer many told me the wet suit was the way to go to climb and swim to the rocks. My wet suit is a 3 mm Phantom Aquatics had great reviews. Thanks for your help
  11. Discount Fuel - Used them for 10 years now.
  12. I just spent a week out in Montauk back in July. My set up was a Mojo Surf 10-6 with a Penn spinfisher 6500, worked great at both bars North and False. Out under the Light house the pole was a bit long to cast out, but I go the job done. 10' Lami is preferred by the locals out there. My only advise is to use a heavy leader 80# mono or wire leaders, the Blues will cut through anything else like a sharp knife. Poppers worked at the bars and white bucktails under the light. Good luck and tight lines.

  14. I have the pliers in the first picture, so far they are OK, They stay in the open position which means you have to close them to fit them in the holster, its a pain some times when you are trying to get back to the action. I have a set of Costal Head lamps fro Home Depot, they work great, no complaints. I do have the Underwater Kinetics in my cart waiting though.
