I've tied and fished this pattern, it actually sits more like it's on a tripod not a keel. You have to tie the loop in right size and lb test in ratio to the two "claws". I adapted this technique with a merkin more or less and it's an awesome pattern, first permit that I threw it at chowed down with abandon.
