Feather craft sells this as mangum’s dragon tail
  2. I would second the San Juan River in NM. I have been there several times and the Rainbows are awesome.
  3. I always take my golden out when I take the boat. She will sit there all day and watch me fish. She thinks I am an awesome fisherman. I throw things out in the water and drag back something smelly. She loves it. She is 13 now so she is not so steady in the boat anymore.
  4. I went 100% fly rod for both FW/SW last year. Been fly fishing for about 30 years now but always had spinning gear around. It is hard to go out fishing on other peoples boats and just taking my fly rod when they are fishing spinning gear. Now I guess they will just have to get over it.
  5. I got the Deer Creek Switch 4 wt for trout fishing some of the larger tailwaters here in the south. It is a pleasure to cast nymphs and streamers.
  6. I use hard sole dive booties. I prefer to use one item for multiple uses.
  7. I have seen this fly box or similar box at Feather-craft. I believe for about the same price. This is where I get my equipment because I don't have any local fly shops.
  8. Mike you are correct. I am also a big review reader. I don't really live in an area that has fly shops so I read reviews and then purchase. I live on Kentucky Lake and it is not known for it fly fishing. Bass fishing yes, just not with a fly rod.
  9. I recently purchased a TFO Deer Creek Switch 4 wt. I made the purchase because of the price and warranty. I would rather spend my hard earned dollars visiting far locations fishing as many types of fish I can catch on a fly rod. Yes I could spend a small fortune on a rod and be able to only make a couple trips that year or I can get a lower priced rod and make several trips. Any rod will catch fish.
  10. For me it will be a trip to Port St Joe, FL and the San Juan River, NM. I am also trying to work out a trip to NC for Stripers and another trip to Michigan for fall Steelhead.
