  1. Did you change out any of the hooks on your sp?
  2. Moco out front 6:30- 8 pm. Looked like an oil slick for about an hour with all the bait fish. First 12 casts got a blue. 17 total. I'd be hooked up with one and another one would be swimming along side trying to take the jig out of its mouth. Still looking to shake the stripe skunk.
  3. After finding my first skunk of the year last night, it was a fun morning for the blues in MoCo. Biggest to 35" and fat. Still looking for fish with stripes.
  4. Moco. Switched from fresh to salt water today. Always nice when your first three casts all find the mark. Lot more fun fighting a blue than a rainbow.
  5. I'm new to striper fishing and have learned a lot from you guys. I posted a new topic with a question about teasers. I may be new but know enough not to hijack the reports thread. Any help or advice would be great.
  6. I'm new to surf fishing and have been reading people's differing thoughts on teasers and when to use them. What are some examples of a striper teaser? Do you still use them with blues around?
  7. These stories are awesome. Thanks! I'm never sleeping again.
  8. Saw on the November thread about a ghost that hangs out on the Hook on Fisherman's trail. Anyone have any knowledge of the history?
  9. All I had to show was one fluke. The Rip was closed off by Fishermans trail (no ghosts) but north and south of it is open.
  10. Went to the Rip on the Hook the other day. Just two giant cranes and barges.
  11. Went fluking with the boy yesterday NoMoCo. Famous last words, "Daddy, I think I have something." Walk over and hear the whizz of the reel and the fish taking off. Managed to land this one on small fluke pole after about a 10 minute fight. Rays were blitzing. Never seen that before. Were going nuts with all the baitfish around.
  12. I have watched the Skinner videos on how to tie a fluke rig which puts the teaser first with the bucktail trailing. Then I see other videos that puts the bucktail first and the hook out the back. Is one setup better for surf vs boat or do have you had any more success with one way or the other? Thanks.
  13. I support local as much as possible, but sometimes it doesn't make sense to. Especially when you can plan ahead for what you know you will need and it is on sale. Last time I was at my local B&T, a northerner walked in and asked for a r/r setup for whatever they were catching at nearby location. Laid out serious bucks. Summer time = tourist $$$. No way around the southern migration.
  14. Out front MoCo. 4 short fluke. One launched himself in about 4" of water in the wash to take the teaser. Blues breaking the surface taking baitfish.
