  1. Crush them all, except for tuna!
  2. Bob, At least Permethrin is applied to clothing, not your skin. Spray it on and one dose will last a few weeks. I have a few items of clothing that I use just for hunting and fishing that stay out in the shed with Permethrin on them to throw when I'm heading out into tic infested areas. I agree your comment re Roundup, bad stuff. It's harm to all discovered too late.
  3. Yes, the list is too long. Besides, no one would believe it. Those days were thrilling for a your teenager until the music ended (Music Inn) when I was about 20 years old. Tanglewood is still going strong and having more rock concerts these days. I can hear them from home from across the lake..
  4. Too many to remember over the few years when The Music Inn and Tanglewood were going strong. Woody Guthrie, Dave Brubeck, Ray Charles, Pete Seeger, Bob Dylan, Joan Baez, Carly and Lucy Simon, Don McLean, The Band, Arlo Guthrie, Jefferson Airplane, The Kinks, Bob Marley, The Allman Brothers, Charlie Danials Band, Marshall Tucker, Bonnie Raitt, ... All about 2 miles from home.
  5. Permethrin works! Need to pick up some more after today. Today my daughter came in from walking the dog, around the yard, on a leash, .... Came in with four ticks on her! They are plentiful, and they are hungry this year!
  6. Nice one!! Looks like a keeper to me! ;-)
  7. "aquidneck island guys might be the most tight lipped in the state " Yea, well... I'm pretty good at keeping a secret too! No spot burning here. Only 1,645 places that look just like this.
  8. Thank you, DZ. Will do.
  9. Ahhh, yes grasshopper~ Confucius also say: "The man who asks a question is a fool for a minute, the man who does not ask is a fool for life.”
  10. Perfect, will do. Thx.
  11. Greetings all~ we are new to the Newport area. I've been fishing out of Barnstable for the past 10 years. Bass close to shore and around Ptown, out to Stellwagen for tuna. We were in Falmouth before that. While there I found my way around the Elizabeth's and MV. Now we've relocated to Newport and I'm excited to learn the waters around Newport and beyond. If anyone can share places to explore (and maybe even catch fish ;-) ) I'd appreciate it. I realize that fishermen don't like to share their favorite places and spot burning will cost you your 1st born, I'm just looking for general areas to try out and discover. I'll be bringing my McKee Craft to our new place soon... through the CCCanal, across BB and around the corner to Newport. I'm looking forward to getting out on the water and meeting others in the area. Thanks in advance.
  12. Slim Beauty knot. Strong, durable and will even glide through the guides!
  13. Oak Mushrooms appear this time of the year. Hard to confuse with others and they are delicious!
  14. SPF 50+ When you're out on the water all day you will LOVE wearing this. Takes some getting used to but once you do you'll leave the sunscreen at home.
