  1. Please delete if not allow UPDATE 8/18 PLEASE SHARE. FAMILIES OF THE MISSING JFRD AND VA FIREFIGHTERS ARE ASKING FOR HELP IN SEARCHING FOR THEM AND THE BOAT AFTER THEY NEVER RETURNED ON 8/16 FROM A FISHING TRIP. OFF CAPE CANVERIAL. If you are interested in joining the search, you can call the jax coast guard at 904-714-7558 Current Coast Guard crews searching for the overdue Port Canaveral boaters are two 87-ft patrol boats, two response boats, one medium endurance cutter and an HC-130 search plane. Other agencies include BCSO, CBP, JSO, FWC and good Samaritans using both surface and air assets. Officials have been concentrating on the Gulf Stream area while good Samaritans have been concentrating 1-15 miles offshore. Anyone who wishes to coordinate with the Coast Guard or has information is asked to contact the Sector Jacksonville Command Center at 904-714-7558. Thier models show that they are mostly likely on a track north, east of the gulf stream. The guard does not wish to send recreational boaters into such a dangerous area. They did tell us, though less likely, that they could have taken a westward drift back towards shore. We were instructed to go 10 miles out if St.augustine, turn our heading towards Canaveral, and choose a course within 10 to 5 miles offshore in that direction, and to report our course. This can help them rule out less likely areas. I've attached a pic of the likely track posted by a Seatow captain that has been involved in many searches, for what its worth. We would be tracking a track inside of this as suggested by the CG.
